Great printer, Great price, Very Satisfied
I received this printer today through fedex and opened it up right away. The printer was securely boxed up secured in place by foam. Ink was sealed which comes with the printer. Provided was step-by-step instructions on how to get your printer setup. I was able to follow the directions easily and was installing ink to printing my first photo in no time. I am rating this printer in the following categories: Ease of setup, design, print quality, print noise, ease of use and price. As noted the ease of setup was extremely easy (5 out of 5) was able to pull product from box, plug it in, follow some simple steps, and was ready to go. The design of this product is top notch. Having a white printer in itself is very nice and the overall quality is presdine. The only single downside is the paper cartridge that holds the paper isn't hidden away (4 out of 5). Now for print quality I tested plain paper, matte paper, and gloss paper. I printed web pages, emails, and pictures. The overall quality of the web pages and emails were as expected and showed no problems and black inked words showed appropriately. The photos for matte were ok and the photos for gloss paper were phenomenal. The quality of the picture was incredible especially on the 4x6 photos printed directly from my iPhone (4 out of 5). Print noise is almost always impossible to diminish in any printer but surprisingly there wasn't as much noise as expected. Compared to an epson printer I have the canon was two times less noisy (4 out of 5). The ease of use was pretty darn simple I can teach a monkey to do it. If ever there was a problem they give you step-by-step directions to fix the problem. I was up and printing in less than 10 minutes and was scanning copying and doing everything the printer had to offer in less than 30 minutes (5 out of 5). The price itself can not be beat. I purchased this printer from Amazon for 74.99 looking for a convienent and easy printer that had airprint. After doing some research I chose to give this printer a chance and feel it was the best decision especially for the price (5 out of 5). Overall rating leaves us with a 4.5 out of 5 rating. With Amazon we have to round up so this printer is getting the Big old 5 star rating. Great job Canon!

This printer is GREAT for PHOTOS
This printer is GREAT for PHOTOS. Best colors you could ever hope for. It is also small, but therefore a little noisier them larger printers, that's pretty normal. I would definitely give 5 stars if there would be a 2nd tray. Wireless works immediately, setup is super easy. I would definitely recommend this if you do mostly photos or need a smaller printer.Regarding ERROR MESSAGES:I am a elderly woman that tested the printer out for 2 weeks and I found that the error messages come up as a delay, when you change the paper size or switch from photo to regular paper. The sensors are checking if you have the correct paper in your tray, so if you press printand the paper size incorrect the error message will light up, and when you insert the paper it will stay on at first until it detects the correct paper size. You can avoid making sure you have the correct paper in the tray before print. If your constantly changing paper sizes or from photo to plain, you would be better off having a printer with two trays.

I now have a useless piece of junk and will have to buy a ...
I didn't want to give this any stars, but I couldn't write a review unless I clicked one. It was endlessly frustrating to set up the printer to communicate correctly with my computer. The connection consistently and constantly wouldn't work. After making about 20 print jobs, I had to go and buy the connector so I could link the laptop manually to print. I used that once and gave up. Recently plugged it back in again to try again and there is now an error message telling me to contact the manufacturer because the machine doesn't work. I now have a useless piece of junk and will have to buy a new printer because it's not worth the time and effort required to get this taken care of in a reasonable amount of time.

This one didn't last.
I was very satisfied with this printer for a little over a year then it died. I called tech support and they confirmed I did the tests and troubleshooting as required. They agreed broke. Replacement was as cheap as troubleshooting and parts. Agreed, I then bought a Canon Pixima MG 7720 and have been very happy with it for a few years now.

Printer Always Thinks It's Out of Paper Due To Front Tray Glitch
Not the easiest to use. User-friendliness definitely has room for improvement. The worst thing is the paper tray doesn't lock in properly so the printer constantly thinks it is out of paper - then you have to walk to the printer, jiggle the front tray, hit OK, and wait for your pending document to start printing. This has happened at least 50 times since I've been using the printer (about three months now). Pretty ridiculous. Overall, the print quality is good and price was reasonable. Wi-fi is decent, but occasionally I have had to restart it to work.
