1260v4 Continues a Great Heritage
I have been using the New Balance 1200-series stability running shoe for five years, beginning with the 1224. While I missed out on using the 1225 and 1226, I have used the 1260 v1 (2 pair), v2 (2 pair), and v3 (1 pair) prior to purchasing these v4. I have completed four half-marathons in them, along with about 1500 miles of training runs (treadmill, track, and outdoor/asphalt & concrete). They definitely help correct my over-pronation.While the v4 seem slightly lighter and more comfortable than the v3, I was disappointed to see that the soles returned to the v1 and v2 style. I really liked the sole pattern and road feel of the v3, which I used in the Napa-to-Sonoma half marathon in July 2014. That being said, there is nothing inherently wrong with the v4 pattern. I am looking forward to putting several hundred miles on these shoes!Other notes: I have run in the 1200 series shoes in temperatures ranging from 11°F to 75°F, in conditions from bone-dry to rain to ankle-deep snow. Even in the snow and cold temperatures, the soles do not harden up like some other shoe brands might. I attribute that to the compounds that New Balance uses. I am also pleased that all of the 1200 series shoes I've purchased so far have been made in the US (with US or foreign components); not many other brands can boast that.About me: Early 40s, 6'-1", 210-225# (depending on where I'm at in my training cycle). Average race pace is 10:00-10:15; training pace from low 9:00s to 10:45. I usually get 300-400 miles (running) per pair of shoes before retiring them to casual wear and then yard work.

Unacceptable Durability
I have been a big fan of NB for a long time because they were comfortable and provided great support for my feet. But this NB 1260v4 has been the worst pair by far. I got this pair less than a month and only used them 3 times (probably put 5 miles on them) the upper part detaching from the sole. This is very unacceptable!Update: don't waste your money on the v4. Spend a little bit more get the v5 adhesive/durability is way better

It is like the adhesive used wasn't strong enough
I purchased these shoes from Amazon in September 2015 and didn't get around to using them until October and have put about 30 miles on them and the sole on both shoes has become detached. I read the reviews of this happening to other people and just thought it was an uncommon defect, but NOPE the shoes aren't suitable for running anymore. It is like the adhesive used wasn't strong enough. DO NOT BUY THESE!!

Numbing
The shoes definitely add support and feel soft while walking. However, after about 20-30 minutes of running they start to make my feet numb, which has never happened to me. About two miles in, I have to stop and take them off because of how numb they make my feet. I do not have very wide feet and I keep the laces the same as all my other running shoes, so it makes me wonder why these specific shoes have caused me problems. I hoped that breaking them in would help, but it's been months and the problem persists. I switched back to my old Nikes and haven't had the problem since. Well, at least these New Balance look kind of cool and feel okay when I'm just walking around.

Fit as expected since I expect the size of New Balance shoes to vary significantly
Since I have two pair of 1260 V3s, I decided to upgrade to the V4. However, when I put these shoes on, I noticed that not only are they slightly longer inside than the V3s, the left shoe (which holds my larger food) was so much bigger than the right that I actually double-checked the size to see if they'd miss-matched them. Also, the arch support isn't as noticeable in the new shoes as in either of my V3 pairs, one of which I've only worn around 60 times. However, since I'm not a runner and only wear these shoes to prevent plantar fasciitis due to overpronation, I'll just lace them tighter and hope that the overpronation protection still works.A word to the wise. I've worn New Balance exclusively for years but depending on the shoe model and the model year, the size I have to buy ranges from a 15-2E to a 16-2E. Some of my 15s fit perfectly, some fit a little loose, and some I had to exchange for 16s because the 15s made my toes curl under.

Four Stars
Great shoe, but heel has worn quicker than expected.

Amazing shoe
By in large the best, most comfortable sneaker I have ever worn. After wearing this shoe I will never be able to go back to overpriced shoes such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, Reebok, and the others, because they aren't even in the same league in terms of comfort. The colors are a bit funky and I wish they made something a little more subtle, but once you try the shoe on you completely forget about that.

High Cost per Mile
After 3 months of running 5 miles every other day, the soles have areas below 1/32 at the heels. This reminds me of those Z-rated car tires that cost a lot of money, but can loose all their tread amidst a long road trip. I only buy NB, but this is a bit disappointing. I'll rotate to my older NBs if necessary to complete the 6 months.
