Yes, an adapter is required for the UK.

Q: Are the temperatures accurate? Has anyone tested it with a thermometer?

Pretty good. My tests indicated that the temperature (tested in water) held at about 1 degree Celsius below the set temperature. This was much better than another make where the temp was variable and considerably above the set level!

Q: Does this yogurt maker require jars to place the milk inside, or does the milk go directly into the maker?

Hi it comes with 2 containers with lids that you sit inside the maker .You put the milk into the container & place inside maker. Alternatively you can place your own jars inside machine according to quantity you want to make. It’s a great device highly recommend
