I purchased this 0.75m cable to use between my WD MyBook 4 TB external drive and an Auralic Aries G1 streamer that feeds my PS Audio DirectStream DAC. Main reason for the cable upgrade was to ensure that the contacts were sturdy and would stand up to frequent swaps with my desktop computer system, which I still use to download music files.But when I hooked up these new cables this morning, I couldn't believe the improvement in sound quality. Bass was tighter, trebles had more overtones and "air," and above all, rhythm and pace were somehow more "together." (I have never experienced this, which Brits call PRAT, before, so it's hard to describe. Basically the impact of each musical gesture was stronger, because the micro-sounds that make it all up seem to be timed more precisely.)Dynamic range, especially accents and gentle swells in loudness/softness, seems to have improved as well. Right now I don't quite understand why this could happen, because what this cable does is transfer digital data (one's and zero's) from an external hard drive to a buffer inside the streamer, which then retimes it and sends the signal onward. So, how could the shorter length, silver content, precision contacts, and solid wire make such a difference?But it does. Don't hesitate to spend the extra $$ if you care about sound quality. Shaking my head in disbelief. But listening to every bit of my music with new excitement.

I was using the Audioquest Forest and decided to upgrade to the Audioquest Carbon, definitely a marked improvement. Using the Audioquest - Carbon USB 3.0 - USB to USB Micro between my 5 TB LaCie Porsche Design external drive and the Audio-PC.Tighter bass, better definition in the voices, deeper and wider soundstage, better clarity in the instruments, brushes on the drums are clearer.Music is more involving than when I was using the AQ Forest.If you are a serious music listener, I highly recommend the Audioquest Carbon.

These do make a difference over generic USB cables. Less tinny and greater soundstage.

Muy buen cable , sólido, buen construido y sobre todo hace la diferencia con el cable común y corriente del disco duro, más limpio, claro y detallado el resultado.

Ho acquistato questo cavo dopo ripensamenti e pareri positivi sulla rete. Ho scelto il modello Carbon proprio perché nel catalogo Audioquest è considerato quello con le performance migliori, senza dover esagerare troppo nei costi con i modelli stellari superiori. Lo utilizzo nel mio impianto audio per cuffie che è composto da lettore di rete della Naim Audio al quale è collegato anche un HDD esterno dove ho riversato in Flac tutti i miei cd. Come amplificatori utilizzo Naim e Burson Audio.Devo dire che il salto di qualità dai cavetti standard è veramente notevole. Si apprezza in generale una maggiore solidità e profondità del suono, oltre ad una evidente maggiore ampiezza della scena sonora. Posseggo una decina di cuffie nella mia collezione, che rappresentano i più noti marchi in commercio, e con costi che spaziano dai 300 ai 700 euro. Con questo cavo sto riscoprendo i miei dischi con dettagli insoliti ed in particolare noto che ora tutte le cuffie riescono a portare alla luce con più disinvoltura e definizione i bassi. Inoltre viene riscontrata anche una maggiore pulizia del suono. È strano ma sembra che ci sia quasi una automatica ripulitura della registrazione. Ne conseguono ascolti più appaganti, cosa che prima non era sempre così. In presenza di registrazioni "troppo lineari" dovevo scegliere quali cuffie abbinare per non avere ascolti "stancanti". Ora stranamente posso usare cuffie prese anche a caso ed è sempre un bel ascoltare. Le frequenze alte sempre presenti sono molto rifinite e godibilissime e mai affaticanti. Insomma un suono perfetto per il mio impianto e per le mie orecchie.Trasferito per una prova nel mio impianto audio principale (impianto di livello medio-alto) le differenze con il cavo USB standard sono sbalorditive. Viene confermato un palcoscenico più profondo ed autorevole con ottimo impatto dei bassi (con alcune musiche moderne sembra di avere quasi un subwoofer) nonché una maggiore ampiezza e pulizia del suono. Tanto, tanto dettaglio con gli acuti molto presenti e cristallini che fanno apprezzare tutte le sfumature della partitura musicale in modo incredibile, quasi da alta definizione. È un cavo però che trovo piu' sensibile (rispetto a quelli standard) alle incisioni di bassa qualità (compreso alcuni mp3) oppure sbilanciate sulle medio-alte, perche' il suono, in questi casi, diventa un po troppo luminoso. Devo anche dire che il mio impianto è piuttosto analitico e quindi evidenzia subito i difetti di questo tipo di file (con questo cavo si notamo molto di piu) ma è sufficiente abbassare il volume e le cose migliorano molto. Nelle incisioni perfette però non c'è proprio storia con i cavi di base.Nel mio impianto per "cuffie" invece non ho mai riscontrato tale eccessiva luminosità anche in presenza di cuffie selettive. Probabilmente gioca molto il tipo di elettronica usata che può stemperare di suo le asperità degli estremi banda superiori.È la prima volta che uso cavi USB della Audioquest e quindi non posso fare raffronti con quelli inferiori del catalogo ma non oso pensare dove può arrivare quello "stellare" superiore "diamond".A questo punto ritornare indietro è stata dura!! e quindi nè ho comprato un altro per il mio sistema audio principale.Super consigliato.

after getting a tip from friends i went ahead and bought one ! high end cables are a mixed bag but this is truly superior and very easy to hear the improvements . from top to bottom in the frequency range to the extra levels of detail and musicality , a true gem for music lovers and audiophiles alike ! also 60e cheaper through amazon making it a bargain . highly recommended and a relatively fast delivery from this company .

Eigentlich hatte ich zuerst das Audioquest Cinnamon USB Kabel anvisiert um die externe Festplatte mit dem Netzwerk Verstärker zu verbinden, habe mich dann aber doch für das Carbon entschieden da es ausgewogener klingen sollte. Meine Entscheidung wurde belohnt und die Erwartungen bei weiterem übertroffen. Klanglich kann ich sagen, grandiose Luftigkeit und mehr Raum, deutlich bessere Abbildungen und Authentizität der Instrumente einfach Realistischer, der Tieftonbereich trockener und etwas tiefer.Ich verwende in diesem Zusammenhang auch den AudioQuest Jitterbug FMJ, der einen ähnlich positiven Klangeffekt hat wie das Kabel. Alles wird sauberer, schneller, einfach mehr Musik.Fazit: Eine klare Empfehlung für jede hochwertige Audiokette.
