I mostly picked the cards up because I have been struggling for years to read Japanese and really cannot get past a few basic words.I will admit, I did not read the description of the pack, so when I noticed little things like correct stroke of each character and Romanji, and then I looked at the box and went, "Oh they promised that". What they provided was really nice. The cards are color coded, basic are green, then they progress across and are labeled for diphthongs and diacritics. Technically, to general learners, and especially those of us who learned English first without the technical information: the progression does not make sense phonetically, however, it is enough to get started.Also, very nice, the connection to Katakana also is on every card. What sold me, are the word cards part, helping me to build my vocabulary-- though to be fair, it is not a functional vocabulary but I can start writing words associated with the characters and then build from there.Also nice, the included chart is color coded to align with the cards and there is a QR code to go with the pronunciation of all the characters and some of the words. There are many layers here to learn initial sounds in Japanese and I hope to take advantage of them over time.

This is an outstanding collection of flashcards! I have several other sets and this matches those in quality and helpfulness.Each card is thick and feels good in-hand (this is a testament to their longevity). Each is easy to read: the print is large enough and there is a controlled amount of information on each card (so that it never becomes overwhelming).I have cards that are thematic (ex. animal cards, food cards, transportation cards, etc.), but I also like this approach. Very inventive!If I had a wish, my other flashcards have a hole punched in the corner and a metal ring that holds the cards together. That makes them easier to flip through and easier to travel with. But it's a minor wish (and I can even do that myself).Overall, this is a helpful collection! Highly recommended!

I have to be honest in that I know nothing about Japanese, but my 12 year old daughter has been taking Japanese on an app as part of homeschooling and has wanted to learn more. She really loves these cards because it they have so much information and she's able to practice. We're all trying to learn different languages at home so I'm trying to offer a wide range of exposure to the kids' chosen languages like books, movies, and flashcards and these fit perfectly into that.

Comes in a small box that's easy for transportation. Makes my daily commute much more educational. Highly recommend!
