The best
How can one justify spending so much for a griddle that is used only occassionally? Well, first of all is the quality of the non stick surface. No other can compare. This thing is built to last. It is heavy, no construction shortcuts and perfectly designed. The two thermostats are accurate and come in handy when cooking a large family breakfast. The grease trap is substantial and convenient. The brackets on the back make it easy to wrap the cord for storage. This was a replacement for a $35.00 cheapy and I think in the long run will be less expensive than replacing a griddle every few years. If one has owned any All Clad cookware, one knows how well made and functional All Clad products are. My only complaint is that it was made in China. At this price I cannot believe it could not have been built in the U.S.A.

Throw away the included scratcher/scraper!
The media could not be loaded. The All-Clad electric griddle has a serious fundamental manufacturing flaw, that the included scraper gouges scratches into the non-stick surface. Incredibly, it appears to be manufactured from a material harder than the non-stick surface! This happened with the two different units I tested. The video demonstrates scratching a clean ungreased surface, but the first scratches came when trying to scrape bacon grease off the very well oiled skillet and into the grease catch. A true non-stick spatula worked just fine to corral the oil without scratching. If you overlook this serious flaw and throw away the defective scraper, the griddle is just okay. Using an infrared thermometer, as well as experience cooking with the griddle, the first unit I received had about a fifty-degree discrepancy between the left and right sides when set to the same temperature. Additionally, the front of the skillet is about 25 to 50 degrees cooler than the rear. I presume this is a design defect, because the grease catch is in the front of the skillet, leaving no room to extend the heating element. On the plus side, the cooktop is very large and roomy, and does make great pancakes--even if you have to cook the front ones longer than the rear. It doesn't take much time to figure this out. Even the first batch of pancakes comes out great--no more "starter duds." The griddle real estate is also wonderful for bacon; you can cook an entire one-pound package with room for more. From what I had read, this is one of the safer non-stick surfaces compared to the large-size griddle competitors, which is why I paid extra for it.Pluses:- Roomy- Safe non-stick surface?- Makes great pancakes, presumably because of good heat retentionMinuses:- Defective scraper- Very inconsistent temperatures, despite heavy weight

Do you really get what you pay for anymore?
I thought this time it would be different. I was wrong. What was I thinking, to spend such a fortune on an electric griddle? Well, I was thinking I'd get a top of the line product, that's what. Unfortunately, what I got was a griddle that looked great and worked perfectly...for about six weeks. Then the knob to turn on the burner simply broke one day and I no longer had a griddle that functioned. Imagine my dismay when I called Amazon and they said the 30-day return policy had expired a mere two weeks earlier. When I was able to chat online with someone and explain my situation they were kind enough to allow me to return it for a refund. However, what that really meant was: 1. I no longer had a griddle, 2. because it was so large and I'd thrown out the box it came in I had to pay $22 for shipping materials(!), and 3. when I recieved confirmation on the refund I'd been charged $48 for a "restocking" fee. So I spent $70 to find out the All Clad griddles are certainly not worth the enormous price tag. Ouch!

awesome
Wanted a bigger griddle to cook up a pound of bacon at one time. My Son and his wife had an All Clad and was impressed with the the quality of construction and weight. Very happy with the product having two heat levels which makes it nice to multitask cook. Only down side is it takes too long to heat up to the set temp.

Best Grill on the Market - Hands Down!
This was the best money I ever spent. I love the dual heat controls - I often make burgers on one side (on SEAR), and toast the buns on the other side (at 325 degrees). It's the smoothest non-stick I ever used - nothing sticks to it. Simple and easy to clean. The very large grease tray makes doing batches of burgers or chops an easy task. This is like owning your own flat top grill from a restaurant. There's nothing I don't like about it. I use mine all the time (at least three times per week). I own the All-Clad cookware as well, so buying another All-Clad product was a no-brainer for me. LOVE IT.

Best Electric Griddle I've Owned!
We've been using this daily in our food truck so it really gets put to the test. Granted, I fully expected to wear the non-stick surface off (and I did) but because of the daily use, the surface basically became seasoned in the same way cast iron does. Heats up quickly on start-up, once in a while the temp drops but typically only after rotating a full grill for half an hour or more. The only annoying thing is that the splatter guard pops out of the side slots really easily. Doesn't affect performance other than allowing drips down the side but not a big deal, it gets cleaned after service anyway. Love that the drain pan is also non-stick, nice feature. Definitely highly recommended, might even buy a second one.UPDATE: 1/22/15 - This griddle has been in commercial use since purchased, every day for several hours per day, pretty much constant production. Seriously, I beat the heck out of this thing and it does a great job. I would not hesitate to buy another; if it holds up to my abuse, it'll handle home use with ease.UPDATE: 1/30/16 - Still going strong, still used daily. Woot!

Unfortunately I had to return it. It's just took ...
Unfortunately I had to return it. It just took to long to cook anything. Now, I'm not sure if this was just a defective appliance, or that is the norm. But it was just too frustrating, and I didn't want to take any chances. So I'm just going to stick with a frying pan. Hope this helps.
