Chris Packham's Nature Handbook: Explore the Wonders of the Natural World

Bought for a nature-obsessed 11 year old. I included a loupe magnifying glass - as there’s a picture of one on the front of the book. Recipient was delighted and couldn’t wait to start looking for small creatures and things mentioned in the book.

I saw this book, and I liked Chris Packam not many people do but he's more my age and we have something in common and that is I was taught ev3rything there was about all or most things concerning nature but since reading it, I have learnt even more in all my 72 years. So they say you can not teach an old dog new things but this senior citizen is still learning and this book has helped me along the way. It's printed in such a way to help the the young learner and budding naturalists to the older retiring generation, it's a lovely book well worth a read, for all concerned .I will be taking nature on more and more now I'm at home more and more.

This is a beautifully put together book with the usual DK quality.All the better for its involvement with Chris Packham, who has written a great introduction and presumably had some involvement throughout.I would say it's suitable for most ages. It's perfect to sit and read or discuss with children, young or old, particularly as the photos and diagrams are so well presented.It would be ideal to take on holiday to look for ideas or examples in a particular environment.And obviously it's great for school work.I'm definitely not a child and I'm genuinely enjoying going through it.I'll be passing it on to someone much younger than me at some point. If they can prise it from my hands....Lovely book, happy to recommend.Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.
