Manduka EKO Long Yoga Mat, Acai, 5mm

This is my 'go to' favorite mat! I keep it at home and it's wonderful for my knees and perfect for my forearm balances. No need to use additional padding. I also do a LOT of sweating during my classes (moderate and power) and this mat holds up to the wetness. I don't slide around. One thing I do notice is when I'm in down dog my feet push the mat away causing a bubble in the mat but that's just due to my intensity. The connection of my feet don't slip or slide. I also have a lifeform mat that I bring when I teach class. That one is thin, lighter to carry, sticky, harder on the knees and forearms,and expensive. I like having the two mats based on my needs.

I really really wanted to love this mat. I love the color, I love the feel of the mat, the density of it, but...........the smell is too much. I have to take a shower immediately after I use this mat or the smell of rubber drives me bonkers. My forehead smells like rubber from being in child's pose, that's how crazy bad it is.I have had it now for over a month and I'm not sure it's getting any better.I am ordering a prolite and am praying it doesn't have a smell like this one.Hope this helps someone.

Everything about this mat is perfect. I've had this mat for over a year and it looks as fresh and new as when I first got it. The quality and thickness are the best I've ever used.

After 1 month of use tiny holes are appearing on my mat. I also see tiny black specks ingrained into the rubber. It looks like I might be able to pick them out but I don't want to risk damaging the mat. I've read reviews of this mat flaking due to some defect when I was researching, but never took it to heart. I invested a lot of money and time (I drove down to the States to pick it up!) into this mat and thought it would be worth it as recommended by other Yogis, but I'm extremely disappointed. I bought this mat from a reputable Ebay seller who only sells genuine Manduka products. Unfortunately Manduka didn't have the specific colour I wanted, otherwise I would have ordered from them directly. I can't do much other than to keep using it and hoping that the mat won't deteriorate more. I wouldn't be surprised if it starts flaking soon, since seeing holes within 1 month of use is never a good sign! I only clean it with 50:50 water/organic apple cider vinegar as instructed and baby this mat everywhere I go, so it was not damaged due to my doing. It makes no sense to me why the quality can be so poor, maybe I'm just unlucky. Buy the PRO series instead, they have a lifetime guarantee on that mat, but not for EKO, probably because it's prone to flaking/holes.

praktiziere yoga täglich zwischen 15 min und einer stunde.da es nicht so viele 200 cm matten zur auswahl gibt habe ich mich für diese entschieden, weil ich blocks und bolster auch schon von manduka habe :)meine alte matte war auch aus naturkatschuk allerdings und 5 mm dick allerdings zu weich für balance ansanas ...hier gibts es keine problemeauch das vielerorts beschriebene rutschen kann ich bis jetzt nicht bestätigen. die matte hat einen guten grip auch bei kriegerflows, hund und schweißtreibenden sonnengrüssen hatte ich einen guten halt und stand.das einzige was mir aufgefallen ist: beim ersten benutzen wurden meine hände feucht bevor ich überhaupt einen richtigen flow praktiziert habe, also habe ich die matte mit der 50/50 essig wasser lösung abgerieben wie es empfohlen wurde, danach wars gut.allerdings habe ich vergessen wie stark naturgummi matten am anfang riechen... ich hoffe die lauen sommernächte beschleunigen das auslüften 😁😁alles in allem eine angenehme matte, hoffentlich wird sie noch besser mit der nutzung!nachtragich nutze die matte immernoch täglich und bin seehr zufrieden!!ich kann noch immer nicht das oft beschriebene „rutschen“ nachvollziehen. um den ultimativen test durchzuführen habe ich die matte fein mit wasser besprüht und dann 20 komplette sonnengrüsse durchgeführt: gerutscht bin ich nicht aber die matte wellt sich manchmal wen ich zu sehr auf den boden presse 😄😄 liegt wohl am untergrund ...( holzboden)der geruch ist inzwischen verflogen, was wohl auch damit zu tun hat das ich sie regelmäßig mit mit einem feuchten microfasertuch abgewischt hab.allesinallem zufrieden, überleg mir noch eine zweite manduka ( pro) zuzulegen um einen unterschied zu testen

Matte ist super. Riecht allerdings ein wenig nach Hasenstall. Lässt aber nach ein paar Wochen nach. Die Funktion der Matte ist aber super!
