Poor audio UPDATED
I wanted to use this device to transfer some videos off my dvr onto my pc. After downloading the OBS software (separate from this purchase) I was able to make those recordings. Unfortunately while the video is good the audio is of very poor quality. It sounds like it was recorded in some sort of tin can echo chamber, very hard to listen too. Therefore I can not recommend this device.UPDATE:After extensive google searches, trial & error with system and software settings I eventually stumbled on some combination that eliminated the echoing and tinny sound. Unfortunately I still had a problem with the sound sporadically dropping out. Finally, I decided to try it on another computer and I now am getting quality video and much better audio. As a result I would probably give this a 5 star rating but I am holding it back as a 4 star because there needs to be a better user's guide detailing the software options/settings, and/or some kind of Tech Support which there is none. Maybe someone with more tech savvy would have figured these issues out easier but for a novice like myself I had to spend a lot of time playing around with it and luckily I had a second computer to try it out on, not knowing all the hardware requirements to make it work properly.

Doesn't work on Android without combining with USB C hub or Y-splitter cable w/ additional USB power
This HDMI capture dongle worked on my PC but didn't work on either of my Android phones until I figured out that the capture dongle required more power than my Android phones were putting out through the USB port at the bottom of the phones. My Android phones only recognized the capture dongle after I added a USB C Y-splitter cable that allowed for a USB C power cable to be plugged in simultaneously to supply additional power for the phone as well as the capture dongle.I got a USB C Y-splitter cable from Amazon that has 2 tails. The USB C Y-splitter cable is visible in the photo I posted for this review. 1 tail is labeled for USB data/devices and 1 tail is labeled for power. I plugged the head of the cable into the Android phone and the HDMI capture dongle into the USB data/devices tail and I plugged a phone charger into the power tail. When the capture dongle was working I was only able to receive video at 1080p at 30 Hz. This setup did not achieve 1080p at 60 Hz as advertised.Additionally I was disappointed with the lag / latency of the video coming from the capture dongle to my Android phones. There's a noticeable delay which makes fast-paced action games using this HDMI capture dongle too laggy to be practical or pleasurable. Skip this USB capture dongle if you're trying to use it to turn spare Android devices into a portable game console monitor.A better option to achieve a portable game console monitor without lag is to use one of the cheap portable monitors available now. There are a bunch available on Amazon for under $100 and will be less hassle and provide more useful features.

Good price with an easy use.
Very easy to use. I plugged into my MacBook and it got detected as usb audio and video devices, respectively. I was able to run QuickTime to get streaming devices (android tv box) displaying on my screen. I don’t use it to play game so I don’t how much lag it might have but I believe it’s reasonable short.

Excellent Product
I’ve been using this product with a portable Nintendo Switch docker to play in my iPad Pro. I’ve had zero issues with this. It feels well well built.I really recommend this for anyone who is looking for a capture card.
