I'll start out by saying I seldom leave product reviews. Almost never. I was pretty impressed with this unit. I first tried an Atoto A6PF. Hot garbage in my opinion, issues with Wi Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and not very user friendly. I returned it and got this Pioneer head unit. I have used many Pioneer audio products over the years, and they have all been solid. I put this in my 2004 Super Duty truck with the help of a Metra 95-5817 installation kit and it fits perfectly. It does require trimming the opening of the dash bezel on the top and bottom, but pretty minor and looks pretty good. it's a snug fit in the radio pocket of the dash also, so it is nice and solid once installed. Everything worked as it should, and the wireless Carplay works awesome. It was very easy to connect and the other features are easy to find and use also. I will be upgrading the speakers for sure, but it even sounds ok with the crappy factory speakers. I added the Amazon suggested back up camera and couldn't be happier. I did all the install work myself, no rocket science here and pretty straight forward. Really nice unit for this price range!

I have always used pioneer recievers on my cars, especially DMH series. Bought this for my 1996 Mazda Miata and no issues to report. Just mount, wire and go.

Bought this because I wanted to have wireless CarPlay in my truck. Works very well, connects to Apple CarPlay wirelessly in less then 5 seconds after the boot up screen is finished. There is a slight delay in audio. For example, if you are watching a video with wireless CarPlay, the sound will be about half a second to a second off. That issue is not present when using CarPlay wired. All in all, it was an easy install, looks clean when installed and works as it’s supposed to. This is one of the cheapest name brand wireless CarPlay receivers you can get and it’s worth the money in my opinion.

so after some months of useage i have not been satisfied with this product at first it was a good product it would connect to carplay easily without difficulties but now it sometimes connects and sometimes it doesnt also not sure if once it gets hot itll have a lag in the music and turns off and disconnects from carplay and its a pain in the butt to put the carplay back since youll have to turn off the stereo then turn on and hope it works again other then that i like the fact how flush it sits in the truck i think thats it wouldnt recommend purchasing to those facts but paid for it already so might as well use it till i need another stereo i connected the stereo myself and had the carplay detecter on the side so it shouldnt be a issue to connect just annoying it disconnects everytime i drive the truck

Revised review 2 weeks after first review. I missed a note I had highlighted in the first review with regards to the backup camera. It will activate automatically if the trigger wire is connected. Overall I'm very happy with unit and wouldn't hesitate to purchase again if needed in another vehicle. Nice unit, fit well into the opening of my car, 2001 Cobra. Installation wasn't bad but I did replace all speakers with new wiring and installed an amp and as there isn't much room in the car even with the all of the seats removed getting everything situated was kind of a pain.

I bought this to replace an old stereo in my toy hauler. I wanted the ability to play music from my phone as I normally am camped well out of radio range. I had to do a few things to adapt it to RV usage, but it is working well now. The amp I have would stay on as there was always power to the antenna wire because there was no ignition to shut off. I installed a simple toggle switch to emulate the ignition in a vehicle.

Most entry level Pioneer head units are easy to install, easy to navigate and have decent sound quality. This one is somewhat easy to navigate, has decent sound quality but the install was a pain. This is the first Pioneer head unit that I have installed where you need to install the GPS antenna. If you do not install the GPS antenna, you will not have a clock or date on the display. The reverse camera input is a brown RCA on the Pioneer, not yellow like most other units. Everything else is self explanatory for installation. The 13 band EQ allows customization across the frequencies to fine tune your speakers output. Apple CarPlay is wireless, or wired, depending on your preference.

Not a big pioneer fan, but so far I'm impressed with this receiver. Apple Carplay and Android Auto both work great. Sound quality is pretty good. For the price, I would say it is a solid product that exceeded my expectations.
