Ranger Handbook: TC 3-21.76, April 2017 Edition

My boyfriend was in RIP 25 years ago - for his 49th birthday he wanted to reread the Ranger Handbook. He said it is almost exactly the same as the edition issued by the Army, just larger than the pocket size they gave him for the field. He loved the trip down memory lane, sharing some of the helpful information with the kids, and retelling old stories from his youth.

Fantastic it’s the size of a school textbook. Words are bigger not so tiring to read definitely easier to study

This book and format is large and easy to read. I believe the size is 8 1/2 x 11. A similar book I bought from eBay, unfortunately, had SUPER tiny print and I need a magnifying glass to read.

The pictures are large and the font is easy to read. There are a few typos and misprints on some pages that warrant the 4 star review. For $20 I am not that upset, just hoping that they correct it in future versions. This is a great learning tool and I am happy with my purchase.

Great for studying

Not much to say, it has everything you need for combat and weapons tactics as well as opords, great to have on hand.

Good entry book about Ranger Training. Highly recommend

It’s a lot more readable than the compact versions. Keep it on your study desk but also don’t let the size dissuade you from sticking this in your ruck sack. Only cons is that it doesn’t seem to have all the material from the smaller compact ranger handbooks, but I still need to go through it some more. Other con is that it might not fit in a typical ziplock bag of you’re going to be in the rain. Just get this and a smaller version honestly. Still 5/5 and would recommend to anybody who is in the ARMY or ROTC.

I love the easy read and large diagrams of this oversized version. Makes studying the material much easier than from a pocket sized book.

Good reference for emergencies

It’s pretty good with ranger tactics and information but why the size? Most of the information like with mountaineering is pretty vague and any knots show aren’t detailed enough to learn.

Outstanding book just got it and I'm honoured to have it very informative great read can't wait to finish it I feel like a ranger already and I'm Canada lol👍🇨🇦🇺🇲
