Gardening
These were purchased not for welding but for gardening, for when handling such as Pyracantha, Berberis, and all thorny plants. They give excellent protection to the whole hand and partial arm.

Super

Nice multipurpose work gloves...
So far we've tested these on 1) chicken wrangling 2) welding 3) fire pit 4) cookingThe good news is that it protects you from ornery chickens, heat and sparks really well. They are a touch bulky and more light welding applications, gloves are more comfortable. However, longer and more heat intensive welds are where these would shine by giving great protection to hands and arms. Obviously, high heat grilling/cooking make these a good choice as well.Overall, fairly bulky for casual use but ideal for situations where you need total protection for your hands/arms.

Excellent use on the grill with good range of motion
When I got these they where almost $20. That's not a terrible price for a set of leather welding/grill gloves. They work well and protect your hands working at high heat on the grill and have a pretty good range of motion for this type of glove. That is to say that your dexterity is still probably going to be lower than you're expecting. But it is lined with textile to improve fine motor control with heavy leather. The one thing that I don't care for is they have a smell almost like solvent that they are still off gassing several weeks later. But outside you really can't smell it. So I recommend that if you store them inside, that you find someplace that you don't mind the smell spreading to.

Good flexibility
I really like the flexibility and dexterity that this gloves enables while being quite protective. From the wrist to mid forearm, the gloves are a heavy suede and appear to be lined with denim. The entire hand is heavy suede with the gripping area being double layered suede and the entire hand is lined with a very effective insulative material. They are stitched in such a way so as to enable quite a bit of finger dexterity. Mind you, they are bulky gloves and so they are not for handling fine parts. But for grilling, handling the fire pit and even letting the dog bite down (to test the animal handling claim), they performed very well! These gloves are an incredible value for the performance delivered. Very happy with them.
