Great for most books, not quite enough for the very thick ones
It did pretty much what I wanted it to do, and at the price it was great. If you just want an easy, portable way to prop up books so they don't lie flat, or to keep books open at a page hands-free, then this is for you. Most any casual book will do nicely on this. For anyone looking to use it while cooking: I haven't tried, but I'm confident it can fit and keep most cookbooks open as long as they're not too tall/thick (see below). However, the light frame and build also comes at a price - when you try to prop up really big, thick books on it, it's a little precarious. To add some context, I use it for reading thick legal textbooks. When you're opening a page in the middle of the book, it's okay (although it seems like it might topple over sometimes - the holder isn't that tall, but it manages). But if you want to open a page nearer the end or beginning or the book, you suddenly have like 400+ pages to hold on one side and maybe <50 on another. A bit weird, and sometimes it doesn't stay open. Also, if for some reason you wanna use it as a tablet stand: a 10-inch 16:9 tablet will fit fairly well on the frame but only in landscape - can't do portrait. And 7-inch tablets probably won't fit with it.For the price it works fantastically, and as a product it's great but is just a little short of really covering everything. If you work a lot with very heavy, big books, you might want to find something a little more sturdy and heavy-duty - but for most students it should do the trick.

Good in theory
A good idea. A few of the books I wanted to use it with weren’t suitable as they were either too small or too heavy. Eventually I forgot it existed so I never use it. I reckon it would be good for recipe books but not so great for studying

Good strong product
The box just had the book holder and nothing else. The book holder is simple and light, so it is very easy to carry around which is good for students who can take this without adding weight to their already heavy bags with all their textbooks. Its high portability gave me the possibility of having my neck relieved of constantly looking down when im studying in home or library as i take this to all my study locations, when i know i am going to be doing revision. At first thought, you may think that the build quality of the book holder is poor but it actually is very high quality and is strong enough to hold open all my textbooks, which are very large and heavy. The book holder copes well with all the weight and has a good viewing angle. I did have the fear of the metal at the bottom bending under the weight of the books but so far it has not deformed in its shape in any way.I am very happy with this book holder and i like the fact that you can simply just fold the book holder and making it thinner than a calculator or even use it as a bookmark in the textbook you were revising from.

Innovative design
This book holder is performing the job of holding my large public health textbook well. Its lightweight and foldable as advertised and comes with a plastic pouch for storage.Though the design is innovative, I'm not sure it's worth £9-its essentially three shaped wires held together be two plastic clips - the wires come out of the clip when adjusting for height which I think could be prevented, but the wires are sturdy enough.Method of Adjusting the viewing angle wasn't immediately obvious to me- you have to pull the top/back support out of the black clips to raise the height. Adjusting the horizontal arms is just for stabilising the book. The book holder performs well with my heavy textbook and with my heavy ring binder. Overall pleased with the purchase.

It is very lightweight is made of metal and comes with a nice plastic carry case and will be perfect for my ...
I was looking for a book holder to take on a long haul flight in which I could stand my Kindle. I think it will work with the Kindle but was not quite what I thought it would be. In the information it says that it is adjustable but I can't see any way of adjusting the angle of the book or if I put the Kindle on it. It is very lightweight is made of metal and comes with a nice plastic carry case and will be perfect for my journey.

excellent for bigger books, but not paperback novels
This was deliverd very quickly. it is sturdy, folds flat so takes up very little room whan not in use and is adjustable for angle of book. It is not suitable for smaller books, ie paperbacks, because they just fold up. very good for larger books such as cookery books etc. I actually bought it as a portable table top sheet music holder for when I get together with friends to play guitar. it won't hold a single sheet of A4 because the holder has a wire frame so cannot support the thin paper, but put a thin book or similar behind the paper and it does a great job. very pleased with it.

Good design, well made..and brings peace to the household
The kids are always drawing things from books and they kept borrowing my cook book stand and also they argued which one of them got to use it. So to save arguments and get my stand back I had a look around for some small book stand. I saw these on Amazon and the fact that they fold away to nothing and are cheap is fantastic. We bought three and they are all used most days. We've had them for 2 months and we haven't had a problem with any of them. They come with a plastic sleeve that you can clip into a folder but we just keep ours on the bookshelf folded up and just threw the sleeve away.

Through thick and thin
Decided to give this product a go after trying Book Chairs without much success. I went through three Book Chairs in around half a year, and found their page holder extensions very flimsy, especially since I used it to hold rather thick books. The ReaderMate Book Holder, however, performs its task very well. It might look a little flimsy, but I've used it to hold thick legal books of more than a thousand pages each and there have been no problems whatsoever. It can even hold a few sheets of papers, oriented in a landscape manner - quite literally a product that will go with you (and your reading materials) through thick and thin.I also like that it folds away simply for easy storage. When it's not in use, I simply stow it away under my desk so I can have an uncluttered working environment.
