I wasn't sure what to expect as I was going by other reviews when I purchased this hat. Firstly its well made and a lovely colour. The front part is shaped so will give your face good cover. The back is soft and so will be great even when sitting down. I ordered a Small and it fits perfectly. It's also lovely because it has a detachable chin strap which will be great when windy or indeed if you want it off to go into a shop or café. I'm very happy with it.

Arriving just in time for a heatwave, I am finding this cool and comfortable to wear. I was delighted to find the chinstrap is easily removed, and easily added back on if wanted. The broad brim at the front is stiff so it holds its shape and does not flap in my face, and shades my eyes and face well. The back part of the brim, like the crown, is made of soft cotton fabric, and gives good neck protection. The decorative tie cord around the crown functions as a drawstring to tighten the fit if needed. I do have a large-ish head, this hat fits perfectly. It folds flat for packing, but I have to be careful not to crease the brim. This was definitely a great buy. I may have thought it a bit pricey at the point of purchase, but I certainly don’t now!

Nice hat and material, has a slight shimmer to it.The adjustable headband is a great feature and is very useful, however this one could be better as it tends to ease bigger while you wear it, so will need adjustments during the day.It does crease up a bit when flooded, but is completely wearable after, and it doesn’t damage it in any way, as it’s just a soft fabric.

This didn’t breathe very well, so just made me hotter. I needed the sun protection, but not great for walking about as you’ll expire.

After a hot day unexpectedly taken outside with someone, I realised I needed a wide brim hat, and yet all the wide brim hat's I have bought in the past have taken up too much space/got squashed/felt hot and cumbersome. So I also wanted a hat I could travel with that folds flat (it folds in half) but gave enough sun coverage. Although at first glance I initially thought the wide brim at the front was too much, it was in fact fine when I put the hat further back/up onto my head and could then see out. I usually look stupid in any hats but actually look okay in this hat (which defies logic in my mind but it just does). Its not a trendy hat so expect some ribbing from any teenagers in your family (especially the back part that really covers your neck) but honestly I'd buy it again. I bought grey and large. The chin strap happily sits inside the head part. You only need that if you are on a boat or a mountain top. Always needed a large hat, even when I was was in the Brownies!). Its not tight to my head. It's lovely and loose and airy feeling. Its one of those hats you will go mad if you can't find it, so keep it somewhere obvious. If you are hesitating on this hat I would say go for it. I'm glad I did. This is my go-to hat.
