Gymnastics Glory: Book 11 (Secret Princesses)

Lovely reading book for girls pitched in the blurb at 5-7 year olds but if self-read, can easily appeal up to pre-High Schoolers. The story is fun and absorbing and the text a good size, broken up by lovely, simple black and white line illustrations. It's perhaps more tailored for adults reading it as a bedtime story and is organised into neat, digestible chapters, but it's also good for older readers who can pick it up and read a pleasant, simple tale in one or two sittings. On the whole one of a delightful series of little books.

This is another lovely Secret Princesses book where Charlotte and Mia are able to inspire friendship, trust and spells!This book is focused about gymnastics and Layla who dreams of being on the team. Charlotte and Mia are on hand to prove to Layla that she doesn't need luck to do this and is able to do it herself with her own belief and talent.These books are beautifully written and my six year old is able to read them herself - she was found reading this one under her duvet with a torch - I think that she is a fan!Would recommend.

I was asked if I’d like to review Gymnastics Glory: Book 11 (Secret Princesses) by Rosie Banks and I said yes. They love the Disney Princesses so I knew they’d enjoy this Princess book.Both my girls love having stories read to them and my eldest who is 5¾ years loves to read.This is book11 in the series; it’s about best friends who just happen to be magical, secret Princesses in training.In this book Charlotte and Mia are asked to grant Layla her wish. Layla is at the Regional Champions gymnast competition and her wish is to be on the Star Squad team as it’s the best team around. Charlotte and Mia set out to help her. Layla was confident and the girls told her she had a fantastic talent.Princess Poison and her two nasty helpers turn up to try to ruin Layla’s wish, so the girls have to stop her. Not only that but Princess Poison is being evil to another secret princess, she’s called Kiko, so the girls know they must try to help her.That’s all I’m going to say about the story as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who wants to read it.Besides the story at the end of the book you get a sneak peek of another book in the series called Picture Perfect. There’s an article about Layla’s Favourite Famous Gymnasts, which are mentioned in the story.You’ll also find that there is a website mentioned in the book to do with the Secret Princess series were you can enter competition.The author has done a good job with the story and given her characters plenty of depth. There are some lovely black and white illustrations so your child/children can see what the characters look like.Reading age for this book is given as 5-7 years old. In total this book has 128 pages.My eldest who is 5¾ years read a chapter every night to her younger sister. She’d to only ask for help with a couple of words that she hadn’t seen before.My girls loved this book and can’t wait to read another from the series. :-)I can highly recommend this book. :-)

Got this book for my friend with a 5 year old daughter. Although the story content of the book is good and she enjoyed this, it is very much a book to be read to a child of this age, rather than a book that a 5 year old child can read on her own, as the language is quite sophisticated. However, having said that, it is well written and entertaining, backed up by some nice illustrations.

This is a gorgeous new series about magical princesses and best friends.Best friends Charlotte and Mia can't bear it when Charlotte's family moves far away.But when they become trainee Secret Princesses they begin an amazing adventure together - and they can see each other whenever they like!Mean Princess Poison has cast a spell on four of the Secret Princesses and made them forget all about their magic.Can the girls remind Princess Kiko about Wishing Star Palace and make a wish come true for a girl just like them?A lovely,illustrated book for any young girl 5+Beautiful

A very girly series, might not be everyone’s cup of tea but my six year old enjoys them! She’s a very girly girl and is a confident reader so is able to read them herself with minimal support.

This is the eleventh book in the “Secret Princesses,” series. In the first adventure, we met best friends, Charlotte Williams and Mia Thompson. Charlotte’s family move to America and the two girls find they are separated. However, their old babysitter, Alice, gives them two pendants to wear and these take the two girls to the Wishing Star Palace where Secret Princesses come to meet in an enchanted land. The girls find that they are potential Friendship Princesses and they have to work together to grant wishes and bring happiness. Happily deciding to become Trainee Princesses leads the girls into adventure with, of course, in true Fairy Tale fashion, a baddie – the wicked Princess Poison and, hopefully, a Happy Ever After.These are series books, with a fairly predictable plot and familiar characters, but my daughter enjoys them. This story involves Mia and Charlotte trying to make another wish come true. Layla wants to be on the gymnastics team, but Princess Poison has stolen her lucky charm and she is sure that everything will go wrong without it. Can the Secret Princesses help Layla believe that she makes her own luck and can succeed through her ability?The inside cover of the book has a checklist of other books available, so your child can tick off the ones they have. At the back of the book is a sneak peak of the next story, plus some information on famous gymnasts and the address of the Secret Princesses website. Overall, a fun series, with a good message.
