Q: Has anyone used this in the cold yet, less than 5c? My current helmet light goes dim to off in the cold so i am looking to replace it.

Hi. Aidan at Brightside here. I have included a photograph of the light after a night left out in the frost. It turned on and worked well. The batteries are slightly affected by REALLY cold weather but unless you are going to ride in permanently frozen conditions I don't think there will be a problem. I use one a lot in the cold and wet (by means of on-going testing) and they work fine. We also have a no quibble returns policy. Hope that helps Aidan Brightside

Hi, thanks for the message. That's no good ! Must be a heavy light. The Topside lights weigh 68 grams which is just a little more than two AA batteries. They really are so light that once on are hardly noticeable. Brightside

Q: Is this bright enough for a dark country road?

I think so. It’s a decent quality light and very bright. My daughter has one & said it’s better then most of her cycling friends’ ones. You could get two, it’s possible to bungee one to the right front fork or handlebar to light up the road ahead & have one on your helmet.

Q: does the base unit pivot through 90 degrees to fit helmets what is the difference between this and the 18 hour charge as they are both the same price

Hi, Thanks for the enquiry. The light comes with two clips to allow fitment to different helmets. One "in line" and the other one has the top and bottom parts at 90 degrees... (hope that makes sense!) The lights should all be the newer 43 hour version. We updated the light last year and I don't think Amazon have any of the older version lights left. I am waiting to get one of the listings updated which explains the confusion..... !Sorry Thanks Brightside
