Covers the greys
I switched to this temporary hair color after a bad reaction to permanent dye, and it helped my skin heal. Unlike mascara, which is silicone-based, this product is alcohol-based, so it dries quickly. However, it can rub off on clothing and won’t last overnight. It’s waterproof and holds up in steam or rain, but regular soap struggles to remove it. A gentle cleanser like Cetaphil works best for removal. Bonus tip: If you run low, adding 2-3 drops of eye drops can extend the product for a few days. Also, save the old brush for dry brushing and blending in any heavily applied product. Optional tip, look up on google the location of the ‘mental foraman nerve’ on each side of the chin. At this location (for most of us) we begin to go grey first, I learned this in dental school. So if you want to look natural, leave these areas grey, it actually looks cool. Speaking of work, this colour transfers on to surgical masks, annd anything it is rubbed against. so always keep in mind that it is a strong temporary masking colour and not permanent. All the best.

Ok, not as good as the usual suspect.
Bought for beard because the usual JFM was out of stock. Is thick and looks good, covers well. However, rubs off much easier leaving gravedigger fingernails and a filthy waxen pillow. Ok as an emergency stop gap.

Good coverage
I used to use JFM until it nearly burned a hole in my top lip, underneath my moustache! I always liked the overall coverage it gave me but healthwise, it can be dangerous, so time for a change. I now use a henna dye which is good and natural, but I've tried a couple and they do fade quite quickly. However, they're good as an undercolour to Blackbeard and if, like me, you like a dark beard, then Blackbeard is good. Quick-drying and with only a few quick brushes, you'll get good dark volume and colour back through your beard. It can feel a bit clumpy and stuck together initially, but that's understandable when you're first trying it and you may need time to determine how much to use on each application. No matter, once dry, just take a thin-toothed comb and brush through carefully; however, you really do need to determine what's important to you - if you want good appearance with volume and coverage, or if you're a bit too hung up instead, on how it feels. In addition, I haven't had any staining on shirt collars, pillows etc. I have a full beard and it works well with the henna dye underneath. I still think it would be good if you have some or a lot of natural colour in your beard and you just want to tidy away the areas of grey. I have a tendency to fiddle about with my beard while checking work on my computer, so the more you do that, the quicker it will thin, I imagine. But, say you're heading out to socialise and you notice your beard could use a tidy, and quickly, I think this would be good. For what it is and does, I like it. Like everything in life, you have to try it... ;-).

Works well but use sparingly
I usually dye my beard with Bigen as I found JFM would not give good longevity. I keep my beard very low between 3 to 5mm and after a few days the odd grey would sprout out. Therefore I was dying my beard every 3 days on average. Blackbeard did a great job touching up the greys BUT I would advise using it very very sparingly. You only need a tiny amount lightly touching the beard with the brush. If you apply too much then it will look matted and painted on. Once dry it didn't come off on a tissue or my uand when touching it. It also washed off with a good face scrub but the beard still looks like it has a bit of the dye on so no problem there. It is quite pricey for what is basically a mascara and there are cheaper beard ones available such as Beardshade for £6.99 and you get 15ml as opposed to 12ml. GOOD = coverage, save time/cost dying beard frequently. Colour match. BAD = cost but if used for touching up the beard then could see this lasting 3 months

Absolutely superb
I cannot rate this highly enough, yes I'm refusing a bit to go grey, was dying my beard before with just for men but it made my skin so sore and itchy, and sometimes it got infected. Not good to be fair. Plus it only lasted a week or so. This stuff lasted over a month of daily use. It doesn't irritate my skin one bit - my skin has actually improved since using it. It also washes out at night after use so you Don't have to sleep with it on. Sounds daft but it's basically a daily brush on dye. Literally takes seconds to apply, kinda gels your beard in place a bit which makes it easier to manage and feels so much better than those Harsh dyes. I've just reordered and I've still got a bit left but its lasted over a month with ease Highly recommended
