Q: Would it blow hard enough for leaves?

This is good for the shop for cleaning up crevices & work tables but not for yard leaves. Get the Dewalt DCBL722P1 instead of this. It's a much better design for yard work.

Q: Does this have the same amount of blowing power as makita and milwaulkee brand compact blowers?

The dewalt and the makita are very close in performance. I use a makita at work and have a dewalt at home. Both are good for loose debris on a hard surface such as a work bench or concrete floors or patio. Since the batteries are the major expense I would go with whichever one matches the batteries you have. Otherwise either one is a good choice.

Q: Do 20v lithium batteries work with all models of DeWitt drills, even older models?

There is an adapter, so that the old post style will work with new 20v lithium batteries. Aside from that, all the newer tools that accept the 20v batteries. Will accept any style of dewalt 20v
