Fun to watch a movie that wasn’t shoot ‘em’ up loud movie. To have it be true made it even better.Really an enchanting story that we all loved

Loved the movie especially because it is based on a true story. I loved how she was able to develop & perfect her talent.

One of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Heartwarming. Scenery is beautiful, all on location in Nova Scotia. If you want to see great acting watch this film. Not only are the leads great but also the supporting actors and it’s a true story. I give it 5 stars!!

Had to purchase a second viewing for friends. Well worth the cost.

I was not sure if I was going to like this, but the story will pull you in, especially since it was based on an actual person.

I love independent films and “Maudie” is a perfect example of why. There’s nothing superfluous in this movie. A few excellent actors, beautiful, harsh, expansive setting and a true story that’s far better than fiction.Maude, who’s played with with extraordinary finesse by Sally Hawkins, is a young, “bent” woman, (she’s got severe arthritis). Her brother and aunt have conspired to diminish her life, the depths of which will astound you. Maude, however, has an indomitable spirit which is portrayed throughout the course of this Canadian film.Her partner is played by Ethan Hawke who does a remarkable job with the character of Everett, a simple fisherman who cannot read, can barely express himself and has the social skills of a caveman. These two social misfits band together and create a family that works only for them. It’s often painful to watch but it grows in love and eventually they triumph, regardless of her infirmities, his lack of social graces and most of the surrounding community who shuns them.If you only see a few films each year, make sure “Maudie” is one of them; you’ll be thoroughly inspired🍿February Movie Mania #7

The best movie I've seen in years!Sally and Ethan are WINNERS in my bookA must see

having seen this film at a friends I wanted to view again. Superb on every level and based on a true story. A tale of determination , Maudie overcome her challenges and brings love to a damaged and difficult man who grows to love . She is one of the worlds most talented naive painters who is discovered out in the wilds of Nova Scotia .

Stunning locations, superb music, amazing, moving performance from Sally Hawkins. This memorable film will make you want to go to Nova Scotia and buy art, so watch out. Highly recommended. This disc is German and defaults to German language but you should be able to switch to the English soundtrack and defeat the German subtitles, though that might depend on the functionality of your Blu-Ray player. No problems on our inexpensive Sony machine.

Sally Hawkins is an amazing actress and this is a Oscar performance.Watched twice a classic.

i love this film,ethan hawke and sally hawkins are fantastic in this film.,there are funny bits in the film also sad bits.well worth buying.i have watched this film 4 times, GREAT film.
