Not quite concept 2 standard but close.
I narrowed my search down to either this or the concept 2 rower. Cost was a factor and that really was the only reason I chose this over the concept 2.That being said this had good reviews from both Amazon buyers and independant reviewers.ProsIt is well built and easy enough to setup. The action is smooth and it folds away nicely.Battery operated so can go anywhere and no wires.Battery seems to last very well.ConsIt does not have any facility to track or set distance. I feel this is a considerable oversight and a terrible annoyance.I would have preferred chain driven as this would offer longevity. The display does not light up and is difficult to see in many lights.Overall this is nearly as good as the concept 2 but not quite. It's functional certainly and I do like it when using it. Plus the rope driven mechanism does also afford the option of varying angles and exercises which is a plus.

This machine has a design fault and if used regularly it will only last a few weeks.
After just a few weeks of 30 minutes of rowing a day the cord attaching the mechanism to the handle snapped in half. I am an experienced rower and can see immediately that the machine has a design fault - the cord rubs against the socket leading to the mechanism until it wears away. I have requested that they come and pick up the item and provide me with an immediate refund. They have asked me to send them photo's of the problem.

Great machine for beginers.
Excellent machine.Fits nice in the house and can fold away into a corner when not in use.I do 3 different excersises in reps of 30. Then do 30 sit ups off the machine, then repeat. After 3 or 4 circuits i then do a row for around 3km.Losing weight and getting more muscular. The machine itself appears to be very well built. It took half an hour or so to put it together but was easy enough. The display works. Shows you the info and cycles through the various stats but doesnt help a great deal apart feom keepong count of your strokes. The display could be better. A slightly better computer chip inside would enable programs and better tracking of your progress with more relevant stats, like some running machines do.Youtube has some good videos to show you all the different excersises you can do.Overall tbough it was money well spent, especially if i live longer as a result.

If you're big and tall - buy it!
This is a very high class product, ideal for tall and weighty users (I am 6'4" and weigh nearly 18 stone and it is ideal). Well worth the money,

Fairly easy to assemble and comfortable to use. I'm only a moderate user so haven't given it a heavy work out but I'm very happy.

This is a rather large rowing machine, everything seemed to be ok until some plastic pieces started to fall out of it. I am waiting for something to fell off now...
