A really good VFM Creator's Laptop
I've only been using this for a week, but the screen is gorgeous and the battery life is also really good, so far. The aspect ratio seems to be a missed opportunity. It should've been 16:10, instead of 16:9. It does make for great a movie viewing experience though. Speakers are average, and almost useless in even slightly noisy environments. Haven't installed any games yet, so can't comment on gaming performance, but I have opened chrome with 10+ tabs, along with several explorer windows and a couple of other applications in the background, and i didn't notice any lag or drop in performance yet. I wanted to get the Quiet Blue and not the silver, but it was out of stock. However, i think the silver is growing on me. The keyboard lights do tend to make the keys unreadable under certain lighting conditions, and i have to manually reduce/increase the brightness to be able to see the letters again. The embossed logo on the lid makes it difficult to find a compatible laptop skin for it though, and that's a bummer. Guess i'll have to get a laptop sleeve instead, to protect it from scratches while it's in the bag with other stuff.

Thoughts on product after 1.5 Years
Reviewing this laptop after a year of purchase. Work usage with gaming on the side. Presenting bad sides first as thats the concerns people look at reviews for.Disadvantages (order of severity)*Cooling issues. This laptop may run somewhere around 50-75% Idle*A screensaver to 'refresh oled screeen' inbuilt into the laptop's bloatware would be the bane of your existence. this can be turned off but not possible for a casual user* Bloatware included. This will be annoying as half of the controls are locked behind asus crate. Not really an issue for power users.* ports : 3 usb and 1 HDMI. There is no LAN port. Good for normal users but cant connect to LAN unless you buy an adapter*Laptop screen can also pose a heating issue. Be careful of extended usage in hot enviourments. Heat damages Screens.* Heat vents are under the screen. This combines with last point where you shouldn't be using this laptop out in the sun on a may afternoon, unless you have extended warrantyStrong points :*very lightweight - not like a typical gaming laptop*bright screen with good color accuracy - as expected of OLED but I still would highlight this*So far not a 'quirky' feature I hate besides the oled screensaver.*The look is sleek and professional (I have the silver/white variant) and looks appeasing in an office enviourments. Unlike the predators and ROGs* No issues popped up in my time using this laptop , and I consider myself to put heavy workloads on this laptop.Tips :*uninstall armory crate , use thirdy party open source apps to control your laptop's drivers and lights*replace the 'productivity drivers' with 'game ready drivers' for nvidia if you plan to play on this laptop* buy a usb to ethernet converter if you want to use lan. Wifi was good but unreliable under heavy loads.

Great laptop for the price
Amazing build quality, great hardware, amazinf battery life, beautiful oled screen, although there is the inherent downside of very minor screen flickering on low brightness <30%, which goes unnoticed to most eyes, but overall a great purchase and value for money

Excellent OLED display, average sound system
Excellent laptop.Pros :- Excellent OLED display- MSOffice was provided along with the package- Laptop body is sturdy and not clunky like ASUS TUF laptops.Cons :- one massive con, being the harmann/kardon speaker. The speaker outlet is kept at the bottom of the laptop, this it gets muffled when kept on a couch or bed. There was enough room at the top of the laptop to build the speaker outlet, however wasn't utilised.I had to change/reinstall, burn the audio drivers of this laptop, make tweaks in the control panel in order to get the speakers to a audible level. Disappointed with the speakers. To fix the speakers- Use the realtek audio driver- install all the latest windows patches- In control panel - sounds - enable audio enhancements- play music at 200% on VLC media player for an hour so that the drivers burn- restart laptop and check

Just Go for it!!
The media could not be loaded. Got it for 67k and i think at this price vivobook offers best display. Decent performance ,thermals are ok ok , speakers are average don't expect much. On avg usage battery (Kb backlit off, 40% brightness) lasts 4-4.30 hours . Lookwise 10 on 10. If you need a laptop with best display,Decent performance , lightweight and good looking than you can go for it.OVERALLVALUE FOR MONEY
