Sound great!
Really great sounding speakers. Clear sound and nice looks so nothing to complain about so far. Remote control works well and they fit very well on stands I bought. Set up very simplistic. Classy without the front grill on and sound is better in my opinion. Quality speakers well worth the money.

Edifier R1280DB speakers
Good price versus performance ratio. Fine for a small to medium sized room. I found the Bluetooth connection easiest to set up but the sound quality was better with the optical connection to my WiiM Ultra streamer. The most noticeable difference on changing the connection was to the depth of bass resonance for organ music. At the other end of the frequency range high pitched notes on a harp were equally clear. I have thought about adding a subwoofer, but will hold off to see how the current R1280DB setup continues to perform across my range of music. Best response across whole frequency range both in terms of depth a clarity was via the RCA connection.

A good set of Speakers
At the outset you have to realise these are not hifi quality, but the price reflects that. I bought these to attach to a computer which plays music saved as Mp3 files. So not that quality anyway. I liked the honesty of the quoted sound range 75 to 18000 Hz (CD claims 20-20000 hz) so its a bit shocking to see speakers saying that they don't claim to do that. However the rider is that they quote 9dB range. This later number shows the sound range these speakers give. if you are getting 0.01% volume at the extreme of the range it won't be heard So those companies who use this standard are trumped by these speakers.. Relatively few people can hear that much above 18000 Hz So for most that isn't an issue. The vast majority of the sound on these comes from the larger 4 inch sub woofers. This means they are great for modern musical taste: lots of bass. If you want to play folk music or similar you will find you get what you want by turning the bass well down and the treble up. The speakers are very well made, and in my view importantly offer future proofing by having an optical input. You can wire 4 devices to these speakers and switch between them with a single button press on the remote. The sheer quality of the build makes these speakers excellent value. the remote doesn't contain controls for equalisation. I am delighted with the purchase.

Brilliant
Last year I treated myself to a Sony Bluetooth turntable. It was fine when it was in the same room as the TV because I could play it through the soundbar and get a decent, separated stereo sound, but since then I moved it to another room and found the sound was not as good through standalone Bluetooth speakers, end decided to go for something a bit more serious like these.I chose these speakers because of the options available. Bluetooth connection is still possible, but there are also two coaxial inputs and an optical input. The idea was for these to act as speakers for my spare desktop PC and also the turntable. Connection to the PC was easy because there was an adaptor supplied which converts the 3.5mm output from a PC into coaxial. I could have connected the turntable via Bluetooth, but opted to connect via the other pair of coaxial inputs because I am old-fashioned and prefer a wired connection and because the turntable is close enough to be able to do that, but it is good to have the option to change to Bluetooth if things change. The controls are easy to use, though in practice I only really use the on/off and volume on a daily basis.Obviously the most important thing is the sound and these speakers sound really good. The bass is punchy without sounding artificially boosted - which seems to be the fashion with headphones and some Bluetooth speakers - and there is plenty of detail in the trebles. As for volume, these are not going to fill a large hall, but in the house they go louder than I need, and there is no loss of range when played at a low volume late at night. So they work well, sound great but they also look good and have a reassuring weight to them. Now I can play all those old 70s and 80s LPs with the sound they deserve, and use the same speakers to play CDs and DVDs through the computer. Overall I could not be happier.
