About the item

This kit is the best starting point for a 3-axis machine control system (routers, engravers, PCB mills, etc). Based on the very popular Arduino platform and supports the excellent GRBL firmware, for which there are numerous frontend options and a large user base (this means support is easy to find online). The included stepper drivers are DRV8825 boards. You also get 3 optical sensors which work great as limit switches. The included DC power connector pigtail with pre-tinned stranded leads makes connection to your power supply simple. The Arduino Nano (CH340 clone) board that comes in this kit is pre-soldered. All of the components pictured simply plug together - insert the Nano into the shield, insert the stepper drivers (please ensure these are oriented correctly), and attach the adhesive-backed heatsinks if desired. Then you are ready to start connecting to your machine. We suggest our 2M stepper motor cables with 2.54mm DuPont connectors for connecting to your motors. This is a very popular board design which is produced by numerous manufacturers, so there is a ton of information available about their use. The same is true of the GRBL firmware.
