I spent some time checking reviews of coffee presses and chose this one. It looks really stylish, is easy to clean and most importantly it keeps the coffee piping hot for at least an hour. Absolutely brilliant.

Cookware gets pretty rough treatment in our busy kitchen, so we've had many cafetieres break on us, especially the glass and plastic ones. The plunger on our cafetiere often gets the grounds cleaned off by whacking it on the inside of a compost bin, and then the whole thing gets a manual wash in a steel sink. This stainless steel model is the first cafetiere I've found that can take the abuse. Two and a half years after purchase and with daily use, it's only got a few minor scuffs showing. The welds at the handle are also very solid, and it takes about a minute to clean. It's probably the last one I'll ever buy. So it's a rare 5 stars from me, thanks.

A month ago the glass in my small and large glass coffee makers broke and I decided to look for something of much higher quality. After looking through the options in the Amazon search results, this one came up and there were so many excellent reviews that I went ahead and purchased.I must say that the quality of this coffee maker massively exceeded my expectations. With so many terrible products made in China (be it electronics or homewares), over the years my expectation for the quality of most products is simply zero. This coffee maker has defiantly given me renewed optimism for product quality.You can easily make 3.5 large coffee mugs' worth of coffee in this 1000ML sized version. You are also supplied with multiple filters in the box too. The item is very well packaged.If you are thinking of buying a cheap glass coffee maker: DON'T. Buy this instead and it will give you a lifetime's worth of service. I highly recommend this product from Secura.

Just logged on to buy a second one so that I can keep one at home and one at work.Bit disappointed that in five months they have decided to increase the price by over a tenner: not sure inflation and Brexit can have added 50% to the price. Will be looking for an alternative, but may end up shelling out the extra anyway!

Bear in mind I'm reviewing this product on the same day it arrived and after using it just one time so far. Like others I'm done with buying the popular brand glass French presses - I've gone through 2 in the past 2 years. Both of the glass containers broke plus an important plastic piece on one of the plungers also broke. They're just too fragile.There is no plastic used at all for this Secura Cafetière, so immediately the build quality appears far superior. The filter assembly is good as well and one filter (3 in total provided) allowed only a minimal amount of fine particles to get through - certainly nothing that could be described as sludge. I always make a litre and drink it over two large mugfuls, the second of which was impressively hot - very noticeably hotter than you'd get from a glass version.

Fed up with breaking and replacing glass cafetieres, and only prepared to consider goods which are dishwasher safe, we ordered this. Really happy with the quality of the jug; thick and sturdy but not too heavy. I was concerned that our favourite ground coffee would be too fine, as the instructions suggest you should use course ground coffee. This was not a problem at all. There are 2 spare filters which you can use in addition to the fitted one, but we didn't find it was necessary. We make sure to give the coffee a full 5 mins brewing time to allow it to settle at the bottom, then push the plunger down very slowly. The pour is relatively slow, which also helps. No metallic taste that we can detect either. Finally, bung the whole thing in the dishwasher. Delighted.

We have been using this item for almost a year. Everything was good until we realised that the upper section is an empty metal which collects water which in turn get trapped in there. It is difficult to drain, i.e. need hours to drain. Theoretically, this section should be hermetically sealed. Otherwise, someone will need to drink his coffee with a flavour of washing liquid, especially, if you do not get rid of water after a cycle in a washing machine. You will not even realise this and will keep drinking coffee with washing liquid "syrup". I asked the seller to return this item and get the refund.
