OUTSTANDING value for a full feature scan tool!!!
If you need the tl;dr version of this review, in one sentence, here it is: This diagnostic scan tool is an incredible value, it can do almost everything the big name expensive scanners can do, and is a perfect choice for someone on a tight budget - BUY IT!I am a fairly experienced technician, I've been doing this professionally for almost five years. I've had my hands on several different diagnostic scan tools, aftermarket and OEM tools/software. This is actually the first "full feature" scanner I've personally owned, and I'm extremely impressed! Otofix is a sort of "budget brand" subsidiary of Autel, and in my opinion they did a fantastic job with this. As you'd expect, it is capable of communicating with everyone integrated system in your vehicle. It can scan and clear fault codes, display data parameters for any control unit that has any to display, perform system tests (such as cycling fans, fuel pump, individual ABS circuits, putting an electronic parking brake into maintenance mode for pad replacement, etc), change vehicle settings that aren't normally accessible (such as warnings, light delays, etc), it can do relearn procedures, you name it.Obviously, there are certain things it can do on some vehicles that it cannot do with others, such as programming keys or learning TPMS sensors (certain procedures or settings are VERY MUCH vehicle dependent, do your research before expecting what you can and cannot do without taking your vehicle to a shop). For instance, I was able to turn off the seatbelt warning chime on my wife's Jeep Wrangler (makes it a LOT less annoying when trail riding and getting in and out of the Jeep frequently without using the seatbelt), but that feature is not available on my Toyota Tundra (it mostly does yard work if it's not towing or hauling things). On a Honda vehicle with a physical key (not a smart key), I was simply able to go to the Immobilizer menu and start the key learning procedure, as it doesn't require special tools or codes; I'm sure that that's not possible for every vehicle. As for the scan tool itself... Everything comes in a nice sturdy plastic case, with a retention strap for the tablet. As expected, it's basically a standard Android tablet, but with work clothes. It wears a very nice molded rubberized heavy duty shell/surround that is it's case. Screen is clear, resolution is acceptable for what it does, and touch response is good. I would have liked to see something like an integrated carry handle/strap, perhaps Velcro, but for the money, it's not worth complaining. Connecting to the vehicle is wonderfully simple, just plug the VCI into the OBD2 port (the VCI even has a built in little flashlight to help find it!!!! Who thinks of that?! Brilliant!), no cords to trip over, and the diagnostic app automatically connects to it once started. With most newer vehicles, you can use the Auto ID function to automatically pull the VIN, and if the vehicle is too old to do that, you can easily sort through the list of brands to find it. Scrolling/tapping through the various menus takes a few seconds to understand, but it's easy to learn. When you first start to use the scanner, make sure to be close to a good Wifi connection, or use your phone's mobile hotspot, and register the scanner. Next, check for updates because there will be a few - do the main app/OS/system updates first. There will be tons of vehicle updates, but I would refrain from them unless you know you'll need them (they are mainly just covering 2022-2023 MY vehicles), some take a lot of space. As far as actual work, I have used the scan tool several times already and have barely owned it a week. I work at a dealership, and it has been very handy for scanning vehicles outside of the brand I work for. My work laptop with the OE diag software was down for a couple days, so the Otofix D1 subbed in for it. I used to test the EVAP purge valve on a Lexus LS460, and determined it was defective. I used it to retract the electronic parking brake on a Honda CRV to replace it's rear brakes. I did a full system scan on a Toyota Sienna for a customer who just purchased it to ensure a clean bill of health. I used it on my Subaru Outback to determine that, uh...it needs a timing chain. Oof, ouch, yikes. 😬😂All in all, I know I keep saying this, but the Otofix D1 is an excellent bang for your buck, I love it. It's the perfect choice for any level of technician. Whether it be the new guy just starting out who needs to have their own scan tool but is on a tight budget; the experienced technician that wants a "full feature" scan tool for dealership or independent shop work and doesn't want to spend thousands on a popular brand, or wants something to be able to use at home; or the DIY hobbyist car guy or gal who does the majority of their own car repairs at home and refuses to take it to a shop for stuff they know they can do at home (best use case scenario in my humble opinion). Trust me, buy this if you're thinking about an affordable diagnostic scan tool, you won't regret it!!! I will try to add pictures and possibly a video to this in the future!

OTOFIX D1 is as Great scan tool with all the features of the high priced tools
I want to write up a review on this fantastic bi directional scan tool. To start off with it feels like its a quality tablet and upon pushing the power button its interface is a mirror of autel scan tools. Something im used to. So i put it thru all the test like brake maintenance mode for a few cars with no issues. Its able to graph the signals and the live data pids all work well. Its fast, it let you know when updates are available. I feel that the OTOFIX D1is a great go to scan tool, that is competitive with the others, if not better that the other brands in its class . I highly recommend it my coworkers and friends. I love that it comes with 2years updates included.. very satisfied customer.

Fell just short of the whole purpose for purchasing it.
I knew my keyfob was going out soon. Being budget conscious I purchased this particular scanner because it says it is able to program key fobs and just as my only working key went out for good, this scanner can’t pull my PIN code to reprogram new keys I recently purchased. I was highly disappointed because it wasn’t what it was advertised to be. I may return it for a full refund and just let the dealership do it. Hopefully anyone else in the same scenario will already have the PIN required to perform the task.

Exceeded my expectations
This scanner is a pro-grade tool at a consumer-grade price. After using it for a few days at our dealership, it’s been able to do everything we’ve asked of it. The first car I threw at it was a V10 Audi S6 that was having throttle body synchronization issues, 2 of our current scanners couldn’t do anything for it. The D1 did a throttle body sync and relearn procedure and it worked on the first attempt. That particular car was an excellent litmus test for the tool because it has two ECU’s (one for each bank) and tends to “hang up” other scanners. The user interface is all Autel, and that’s a great thing because in my opinion they make the most intuitive and simple to learn software in the business. I was leery about the Bluetooth OBD dongle, but it connects automatically to the tool and seems to transfer data quickly, and not being tethered to the car is awesome. The screen great, exactly like a smartphone capacitive touch (I’m experimenting with cheap screen protectors, when I find one that fits I’ll update the review). If you need a full function bi-directional scan tool on a budget, the Ottofix D1 is an excellent choice.

Decent budget scanner
I have used this for about 6 months In a dealer ship. Initially the vci would disconnect often but after a few updates, the connection issue seems to be fixed. This runs autel software and seems ro be identical to our shop autel. Other than battery size it works the same. I have also paired an autel vci and battery tester to it And both worked normally.Bi directional tests work most of the time, but some don't, even though they are listed as available.I have programmed some older ford and honda keys,Prescans, pid monitoring, and some evap testing. Power balance is useless as it is on all autels.Battery life is a day or two unplugged, and charges slow, just leave it plugged in.At this price point, its one of the best buys for a shop backup or avid diyer. Just know it's limits and that helps curb the frustration.

Really Impressed
I was looking for a scan tool that is under the $1000 range that has some functions higher than the other mid level scan tools. I believe I found it, been using this scan tool for a few weeks and I want to say that this is officially my go to. It's light, has a lot of service resets, touchscreen, fast boot up and the list goes on but I have two cons that stood out that isn't a deal breaker: No kick stand and the battery life could be better. Other than that, the OTOFIX D1 is a great tool for DIYers and professional in the automotive field. I do like how small it is in size and gets the job done.

D1 can a lot for the money
Powered by Autel and can a lot for the money. D1 Pro has larger screen, faster, later Android, but D1 is $200 cheaper, whereas still provides most important functionality.

Ottimo prodotto semiprofessionale

Klasse Gerät, Super Leistung ,guter Preis und bin total begeistert! TOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
