Excellent
This is a good reference book for both the student and practitioner in Asset Management. It is a collection of related chapter each written by an expert in the respective field and I understand it now has a partner text with international case studies. I am planning an Asset Management Unit within the Engineering Faculty of major UK university for 2014/15 and this will be a core text.

Reasonable Overview but somewhat academic
Book consists of a series of separate articles by (maiinly) UK Practitioners. Writing style is heavy and book is a bit academic. It's not in depth enough ion techniques for peopel nwith experience but too heavy for beginneres. For smeone giving a courtrse on Asset Management it could be good background for preparing lectures. Woodhouse Partnership has White papers on it's website which are quite good.

interesting and easy to read
I bought this book when I started working on an Asset management project in FM. I was dreading having to read it as I thought it would be quite stuffy and text book like, but it's great. It's easy to read and written in a clear and interesting style.

A lucid introduction....
...to a subject of growing importance, accessible to business and lay-people alike. I was particularly impressed by its attention to such issues as the moral necessity of intelligent asset management. This is not a book fixating on gross profitability, it can and should also inform social and political decision making.

Excellent!
My company IMSOLS Limited delivers engineering services to manufacturing and process industry clients around the world. Some of our clients moved on from short cycle maintenance thinking to whole life cycle asset management a few years ago and the rest are now starting to do the same. This book will make it a lot easier to get our people up to speed with what this entails, especially for investment planning and risk assessment and how different departments especially engineering and finance need to work together. It will also help clients develop better asset management plans. What I like most about the book is the way it's structured - it's more like a reference manual than a book you have to read straight through which means you can dip into it as your understanding of the subject grows. Other books I've looked at on this subject are too technical or narrow. This one paints the big picture but gives you plenty of ideas for how to build a detailed approach too. 5 STARS!

Book a Good Asset.
This book is part of the increasing literature on physical asset management. It is made of a collection of articles, useful reading for anyone who is interested in gaining a general understanding of the subject, as well as how European entities like the IAM (Institute of Asset Management) conceives this emerging (and important) engineering managerial discipline. The book's content, however, does not include one single article on the economics of physical asset management, a topic I am sure will not be left out in the future.
