When you squeeze the hog ring both ends of the ring touch each other… there supposed to be offset a little to prevent this

These hog ring pliers are really not ideal for installing chainlink fence, which is what I bought them for. As you can see in the photos, the dimples in the jaws are too low which causes the ends of the hog ring to jam into the opposing side and therefore it can't be closed all the way. That, and the pliers themselves are extremely stiff because they're just fastened so close together and there's no way to loosen them. So for me they have 0% functionality, 0% ease of use, even using 2 hands it's just stupid hard to close them with a thick hog ring inside plus they can't even close all the way like I said earlier. I am very unhappy with my purchase and feel like these were a waste of money. The only thing I could see them being used for is as a vice grip workout or a paperweight.
