I remember when I was about 8 For Christmas I got an old style O Gauge 3 Rail Train Track System. I just loved it. I wanted to share that same thrill with my 6 year old Grand son. I bought this set for him to see how he would take to it. I've been trying to get him away from video games and take on new interest. This set is AMAZING!!! Real to life sound effects and for his age right up to his level. I myself Just loved It! I love the way the tracks are tide together, The many different track layouts. But most of all I enjoyed Reliving my past Christmas through his Eyes. But For everything this set has going for it...It has 1 Major flaw ..."NO CABOOSE!!!" Where in the hell is its CABOOSE?" The poor train looks 1/2 naked rolling down the track. Now That is a shame to what would be the perfect Train set for any young boy. Do you sell them separately for this type of Rail Set?

Don't believe the bad reviews. People... any small train set is going to be fragile to some degree. I have taught my 3 year old son to handle it with care and he just loves it! That being said this is very well made for the price. The train has never come off the tracks and the battery charges pretty quickly. The smoke is a nice feature but again I had to teach my son to fill the water carefully as to not not overfill and possibly cause damage to the train. We started decorating for Christmas early this year and it looks great under the tree. We'll see how long it lasts but for now very pleased.

The media could not be loaded. 10/10!! Product was easy to install, comes with PLENTY of tracks to make your track as versatile as you wish. The train is very good quality & feels heavy/not cheap & flimsy. The smoker is my favorite part, just add water. Comes with a remote control so you can control it if you wish. The only thing I couldn’t figure out was how to use it with the batteries. So I’m using it with the rechargeable USB option. Other than that, 10/10

For Christmas and for my three year old son I ordered the Lionel Polar Express train set (the $100 version, not the more expensive version), but upon receiving it was disappointed with the quality. After doing a bit more reading on the Amazon site, I chose this train set to display around the Christmas tree, and I'm very glad I did. The locomotive is all metal (save for a few decorative plastic pieces), and the detail and quality it, as well as that of the coal tender and passenger cars is first rate. The lighting on the passenger cars is a really great detail that adds a ton of character to this set. And although the coal tender and passenger cars are made of plastic, the trucks (wheels) of each car are metal, which greatly adds to both the quality and functioning of the train. The rechargeable battery in the coal tender lasts a good while and is a fantastic addition that helps parents like me avoid the disappointment of not having batteries on hand. And the price is just a bonus - all this quality and detail for nearly a third less than the cost of the lesser Lionel train set. Two things would make this set just outstanding: 1) a remote control would be nice to have, but not a requirement (my son enjoyed using it with the Lionel set); and 2) a way to hide the wires between the locomotive and the coal tender would be nice, but again, not a requirement, would just clean up the look a bit. Overall awesome job Hot Bee!

Really cool train. My kids love the steam. This is the most realistic train set we have had…but, the train comes off the tracks very very easily with the slightest touch and it takes a minute to make sure every part of the train is on just right. It’s definitely led to some frustration with my kids.

We have several expensive Bachmann HO scale trains. This beautiful train is quite a bit larger than an HO train set, but still will fit on our oval dining room table. It has a USB charger and the first charge took about 3 hours. The engine has a light. The train sounds, whistle, and “smoke” features work very well. They’re delightful! The train was played with for about 3 1/2 to 4 hours over a two-day period before needing a new battery charge. Unlike our Bachmann electric trains which have variable speeds and can reverse direction, this train moves along at one speed in one direction. I like that there’s no electric cord involved and that the train is sturdy enough for a child to play with. I would stay that it would make a wonderful gift for any age. Children under 6 will need help with the assembly and set-up. Two grandparents in their 70’s and a young granddaughter really enjoyed playing with this train! Our only disappointment is that the train has no caboose!

Very well designed and built. My kids loved it!
