Just what I was missing! This thing is perfect for the run and shoot videographer and photographer. It will screw into your hot shoe, you can add another mount to the shoes, such as an external hard drive mount, lights or shotgun mount. It is large, it is heavy but all of this is well worth it! Very well built item. Definitely exceeded my expectations that’s for sure. The phone fits nice and snug and I love how many positions you can mount a grip for many different angles. The adapters that slide and lock in and extremely sturdy, I have no doubts that the lens will stay put during use.

This cage is great! It's very modular with the lens mounts and extremely well built. It's also highly versatile, which makes it a great choice for a wide variety of applications. I definitely recommend this one.

Build quality is great with a nice smooth feel made out of aluminum. Inserting your phone is easy and there is a soft rubber liner to protect the phone. It is a precise fit with no wiggle or play once your phone is in the cage. You can't use a case with your iPhone when using this rig but I think that's goes without saying and is expected. Numerous 1/4" mounting points on the top, sides, and bottom. There is also a cold shoe mount on the top of the cage.It comes with a 67mm filter adapter as well as a 17mm threaded lens backplate which can be used to mount individual filters for each lenses on the iPhone. Accessing the side buttons on the iPhone is easy and precise on the cage as well as the USB-C port. Though, the opening for the USB-C port easily fits the Apple cable that came with the iPhone, it may not work for plugs that are slightly thicker.You won't be able to wireless charge your phone with the cage on. You will need to use the USB-C port if your low on power or want to recharge your phone without taking it out of the cage.With all the mounting points you can find other attachments that will make this cage very customizable and versatile. As of now I'm happy with the cage feel I will get good use out of it.

The snap-on backplane only has 17mm threads for the 1x main camera lens. This means I can't use a 7x telephoto, also from Neewer, with the 5x lens on the pro max, essentially I now have a higher resolution 5x magnification. Should have looked more closely before buying, the backplate needs modified to work with the 5x. It's fine otherwise, attaches to tripod well, a shame to have to return it.
