UPDATE: Cooked food sticks to the pot, hard to clean it
UPDATE MARCH 18 2018: It's a shame to take off one star, but the food cooked in the pot sticks to it and it's hard, almost impossible to remove without a scouring pad. SOLUTION: Got baking soda? Got vinegar? Combine the two at the bottom when cleaning your pot, that'll remove the stuck-on food, just make sure to rinse well and dry. You'll still need some elbow grease but at least it'll be clean. Nevertheless, I very much enjoyed my warmed up chicken rice soup with udon noodles, and I will enjoy again soon.I am in love with this pot! Yes you can boil water in this, but it takes as much time as it would on the stove. It took about 12 minutes to boil 12 ounces of water, not bad. It's a very cute blue hot pot. Simple to use and You can cook a meal for two in this. This is a nice design, a handy hot pot that I recommend to buy.

Cute and Functional Stainless Steel Hot Pot
The shape and color attracted me to the Liven when I went shopping for a hot pot. I specifically wanted one with a stainless steel since I'm trying to get away from plastic. The last hot pot I had had a heating element at the bottom of the bowl which lost some of its nonstick finish; I definitely didn't want a repeat of that! The Liven's controls are simple - low, off, high. It reaches a boil quickly and will perk along for several minutes. I like that it has an auto-shutoff feature that prevents the unit from overheating. I've boiled eggs, cooked oatmeal (instant and regular) and noodles, heated soup and other foods. I haven't used the steamer container; but it makes a great place to store the power cord. The handle seems delicate, as if it could break off when I'm cleaning the pot. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Great purchase, I plan to take it this summer as we travel.

Not boiling quick enough for 1/2 hr lunch
Purchased this for son to use at summer class where the location does not allow any meat or shell seafood, so no cold cut sandwich, or shrimp or crab meat. Son wanted to make noodles for lunch. The button has two temperature setting with I and II, after trying out, we confirmed that II is a higher setting than I.With II, it takes about 10 minutes to boil the water for noodles, another 4 minutes to boil noodle, few minutes to cool it down to edible temp, and the lunch time at camp was only half an hour. So my son used it once only because not enough time to make noodles and eat. Also, if you use it to just boil water, it can't really pour water into cup noodles because there isn't a spout like an electric kettle.I'm sure there is lot more ways to use it , however, for our purpose, it doesn't really help. And, did I mention the pot can't be removed, so you have to wash the whole thing as a piece with the electrical plug in. A bit inconvenience.

Good product
Love it, small and useful. One thing that concern is - although it mentions that depends on the local water, may need to clean up the container using vinegar after used for a while. I found out that need to do so every time I used it (for steam). I think it is because the container was not made by the top quality of the stainless steer. One suggestion that the steam vent (hole) on the lid is too small, so during steam, the lid keep popping.

So good for making lunch at work
I love this pot. I used it almost every day for my breakfast and lunch at work... .It heat up fast, size is good. The steamer is Very useful for extra things need to warm up or Cook. The pot is too small to cook in full. Be careful if it over load it the boling water spillt out and cost the power short circuitOtherwise. I love this pot.

Great but needs one more lower setting(warn/simmer).
Needs one more low setting a simmer the low setting it does have is just to hot so pay attention to your cooking or you might burn you food. This works great for heating up a can of soup or top ramen. I make top ramen at work and add extra goodies veggies, meat, eggs it works great for that.Follow instructions for cleaning do not submerge.

Little ramen cooker
Nice little gadget for cooking ramen or boiling water. I wish the metal bowl was detachable to make it easier to clean. Other than that, it’s great for small spaces, dorm rooms or if you’re avoiding using a microwave to cook your ramen. The plastic material seems very light and cheaply made but so far it’s still in good condition.

Gets too hot initially
What a nifty little product and it is very small and I liked that it included the steamer basket. The only negative that I have is that if you turn it on high, it gets extremely hot and is bound to burn any food what you put into it. I would suggest starting out on low. It would definitely burn any rice you put in there if you had it on high. The stainless steel is nice, because it is healthier, but it's more difficult to clean. It boils water quite quickly
