OtterBox Defender Series Case for Moto Z2 Force Edition - Retail Packaging - Borealis (Tempest Blue/Aqua Mint)

Great case, very durable. However the screen doesn't seem to fit correctly on the Moto Z2 force. It won't snap down all the way, so makes it hard to use on the phone since the cover isn't touching all of the screen. Used it for a day now it is sitting in the box, because it won't fit correctly.

Installed this on my new Moto Z2 Force, in combination with a Dmax temperglass screen protector.The good: once you get this installed, IF you combine with a good screen protector from somewhere else, your phone will be very well protected.The bad:- The "screen protector" it comes with is worse than worthless. Chintzy plastic, and it's annoyingly hard to remove, and leaves bits of glue behind when you do remove it. But you will want to remove it and use a good screen protector.- You need to take the case apart to install it on your phone, and the instructions don't really tell you how to do that. (In fact the instructions are a useless set of unclear diagrams that don't really tell you anything useful.)- It takes quite a bit of hand strength to get the case apart and put it back together around your phone.I've had Ottercases for other phones and liked them. But for a Moto Z2 Force, I suggest looking for something else.

Like many others have said, the built in screen protector just doesn't work like it should, definitely leaves a space between screen and protector.However, I put a glass screen protector on my screen myself and then cut the built in screen protector off right at the edge of the black plastic using a utility knife and it works perfect. Make sure to leave the 1/8" that is glued to the case on the underside, it seals the case perfectly to the screen protector you put on. Again, don't try peeling it up from where it's glued to the case. Cut it right at the edge of the black plastic and it works great. The screen protector I put on makes for a tight fight down by the fingerprint scanner but just apply enough pressure to make it clip and it works great.

WARNING: This case leaves a large space between your phone's screen and its protective cover. So, if you do not have a screen protector on your phone in addition to this case, it will surely scratch up your screen due to all the dirt and dust that gets in between. This may not be a problem with phones that have a glass screen, but the Moto Z2 Force has a plastic screen that is easily scratched.

This is the second case Ive had for the same phone. The original has been used for over 5 years, and worked perfectly until I slammed it into the closing hatch of the cars trunk door. The glass / plastic cover did not break but the little hinges did. IT ;PROTECTED THE PHONE FROM ANY DAMAGE. I continued to use the phone and the beat up cover for another 2 years. The inner protector now had glue on it. glass/ plastic screen protector is still in great shape, but the little side locks dont snap well. Also the outcase had a rip and I decided to just get another . one. Ive had cell phones now for 23 years and with Verizon for 23 years. Ive never had a cracked screen. I have always kept my phone in an Otterbox

This is by far the worst phone case I have ever owned. At first, I noticed that I had to apply generous pressure in order to make contact with the screen. There is a significant gap between the phone and the clear case. This makes interacting with the capacitive touch screen virtually impossible. I even tried adding a thin tempered glass screen protector to bridge the gap and hopefully add functionality to the case. No luck. I believe this design is fundamentally defective and will be requesting a refund.

The protective screen does not lay flat on the phone so you need to push the protective screen down to touch the phone!!!! It is very annoying and everyone around can hear you typing because when you push down on the screen to touch the phone it makes a noise. I put a "glass" protective screen protective shield on it and it has already cracked in several places because the case is not protecting it properly. I have always used otter cases because I am a carpenter and need the protection from the phone hitting the ground on the job site and need the gripping edges because I am always wearing gloves. This case did not work at all!!!

The outside chassis seems sturdy enough, but the screen protector not only fails to do its job of protecting the screen; it also can result in your screen being damaged in instances it would otherwise be completely fine. This is because there is a significant gap between the "protector," and the screen itself. In addition, there are gaps surrounding each of the areas where material is removed to allow functionality (camera, speaker, light, fingerprint sensor, microphone). Each of these gaps allow debris to get trapped under the screen "protector," and potentially damage the screen.You will also have trouble doing *anything* involving your phone's touchscreen while using this case because of the gap. Typing otherwise simple messages often becomes a nightmare.
