Seems to Work at Killing Mold in Crawl Space
I bought this light to kill mold in my crawl space. My vapor barrier failed and I had mold developing under my house. I replaced the vapor barrier myself, but wanted to kill the existing mold. All of the mold remediation solutions had downsides for me because they either soaked the crawlspace, or, filled the air with mold. I decided to try UVC to kill the mold, and I believe it is working. My plan has been to put the light on the ground at the end of the crawl space, turn it on, then pull it a couple of feet towards me every hour or so. Before the UVC radiation the mold on the wood was kinda dusty, like pencil lead, when I wiped it with a gloved hand. A couple of days after the UVC treatment that same mold was hard and fell off of the wood when I touched it. A sand-like texture. I also noticed the musty smell was gone. I never heard of this being done before but I wanted to try it and it seemed to work. I got the idea from my air purifier that uses UVC to kill mold and allergens.

Great idea, Design and Safety Issues UV-C Gerrmicidal Lamp Kit
I like that I am pretty confident it may actually have germicidal effects--does emit a strong ozone odor, so be careful if you purchase it. The light is very bright, sprays out on 3 of 4 sides-- definitely wear dark protective glasses. Unfortunately the design is flawed: there is no handle area so your hand definitely gets exposed, your fingertips have to pinch the sides of the plug base of the light to hold onto it and it makes your hands smell very strongly of ozone--takes repeated hand washings to remove it and it can't be good for your skin, a safety issue. Wearing thick gloves would make it nearly impossible to pinch grip onto that tiny plastic plug base since there is no handle. Along with no handle area, the cord constantly falls out in the midst of use and is not secure~ it doesn't really snap in at all. No matter how slack the cord is, it falls out of the plug receptacle. Again, great idea, decent price. There is such a need for something like this lamp but needs some design and safety changes. If design changes are implemented, I would likely purchase it! This one will need to be returned with the flaws in function and safety.

Great for producing ozone to sterilize a room
WE have two of these for getting mold/musty smells out of a room. We close the door and have one or two run for a few hours, then air the room out. They work great. The only complaints are that you need to be careful with the product as the set up gives the impression that the bulb can break if you are rough with it or is you accidentally step on it. The other complaint is that I wish the on/off states were clearly marked on the switch. The cord is short and your face is pretty close to the bulb when you plug it in. We marked the on/off states with a black sharpie so we can make sure it is off before plugging in.

It will catch on fire
UPDATE:Updating4/27/20-I wrote to the seller with my concerns and the unit was replaced right away. So I’ve increased my star rating to 3 for good customer service and we’ll see how this unit performs.First, I bought this in January, 2019 for $10. Now the price is $36!Second, I used it three times. I thought it was a good product. The fourth time I plugged it in and turned it on the light flickered then went out. Dead. I thought it may just be a relay or other simple fix so I opened it (cut it open) and checked it out. The motherboard was filled with some sort of weird fiber. Most of the components had actually BURNED and the ones still intact had meted away from the solder. It was useless.

Healthy option
I make my own gravlax and use this for food safety along with flash freezing the salmon. Of course I can also use it for other items if I need to. It fits under the counter conveniently enough but it doesn’t stay up with the adhesive strips provided and that’s it’s only negative. Otherwise it’s a home run. I do use eye protection, sold separately. I’m not in the room without it when this is on but that’s basic safety not a defect.

Review asked about remote - there is no remote. Small size
This unit works as provided but the light area is very small. Unit/bulb is about 8 inches and the UV glow covers about 16 inches wide by about 7 inches upward. Running the perimeter of a 12 x 16 ft perimeter took about 14 hours slowly moving it as treatment times occurred. An extension cord to another room served as a remote on and off. The unit did what it was supposed to, just underpowered for what I expected.

1 out of 2 not up to standards
Ordered two of these lights. Built my own UVC box. Everything about the box turned out great but this is about the lights. First light I fired up to check (yep, wore UV protection) was "orange", not blue. 2nd light was fine. Fired right up, blue. Hmm. I already had put the brackets on my installation areas so I figured I'd let the light "burn in" some. Took a while but it finally went blue. I wore protective gloves when unwrapping the lights so they didn't get contaminated. But I notice that specific light does not fire up as fast nor burn as bright. I didn't do a banana test yet but plan too this week. Not sure if I should ask for a replacement or let the light "burn in" before I jump the gun. But over all, I'm pleased with the light that worked right out of the box. Price wise, I think they are little pricey but I ordered them anyway. If the seller sees this, suggestions?

Underpowered for 100 sq. ft.
This rating relates to the description of the product and not the product itself. First, this device works, appears solidly constructed, and seems durable. Second, there is no ozone smell generated. Third, it is compact - but not powerful. The description speaks of disinfecting a 10'x10' (100 sf) room, but the instruction card provided speaks of disinfecting cabinets or small boxes with the 6W model. This would probably disinfect a small closet, but not a bedroom. Their 15W model seems more appropriate for a normal-sized room.Update 6/2021 - a year later the price has dropped 55% - pandemic madness?

U/V Lamp
I used it for 5 months and the timer won't work now. The uv light meets our expectation to kill germs.

Not as good as advertised
Used it for repairing the windshield. The resin turn to solid in 30 minutes under winter sun; however, it will take more than two hours under this light.
