Excellent autobiography. A manager who has managed all throughout the world virtually. Not necessarily the greatest manager as he lost many matches and did not win too many titles. Yet it is the best book to give idea of the state of football and persons connected during 80's 90's and 00's . This person has managed many stars including Beckham, Baggio, Crespo, etc. He has been with person like legendary Bobby Robson to present day youngsters like T.Walcott. If you want to read one biography to know a lot on football then this is it. It is not motivating or anything special but a good read nevertheless. He is definitely a citizen of the world....reflecting the globalized world.

An exciting journey around the world from a self-confident person who admits a lot of his flaws.
This is an interesting book that kept me engaged (read in 2 days). If you are in the football industry you will find it even more enlightening, I assume. The author confirms the Greek poet Cavafy's motto that is the journey that matters in life and not so the destination. SGE appears to prefer to feel remorse for things done than avoided in life. Oftentimes blandly admits personal flaws and misjudgements in a way Southern Europeans rarely would. The part of him as England's coach is perhaps too long; his experience in Korea (guess which of the two) was really extraordinary. I divide books in those that I read once and those that I read more than once. The particular falls in the second category.

Highly Reccomended for the true football management fan
Only my second review on Amazon as I don't usually have the time to do them but this book truely deserves oneSven in my opinion was painted to us in a very negative light by the British media and more for his personal life rather than his really quite impressive managerial record in Portugal, Italy and the England national team. This book clears all that up and shows his actual true love for the game and his desire to work over the actual money earnedSven takes us on a trip of each club he has managed and stories of the chairman and presidents he has worked for where the Italians presidents are true footballing men and much easier to work for that the buisnessmen who just want to but succesWe also learn about the stories behind the women in Svens life and how much of a set up some of these were by the English pressHear about the more obscure jobs in his life with the Mexican national team and how the club owners govern the Mexican FA.. Also the jobs in Thailand and UAEThis is a great story of football and not your usual autobiography how the first 100 pages are wasted on life as a kid and growing up this is just football all the way

Three Stars
Funny book. He seems to skip over much of what you want to read about.

As for my part in the story there would be details to be done and, sooner or later, I'll write my own version of the facts
