Works great and solved the problem I had
This little thing works perfectly. Will switch all by itself when a signal is detected. Can also use the remote to switch the optical inputs. One thing to note is this will interfere with any of those cheap led lights you might have near it when using the remote. It changes the colors of my LED's. Not a big deal.

Auto Changes and Works Great!
Works as describes and sounds great. The remote is a bonus but I have no need for it or use it. I guess if you are having multiple feeds playing at once but I am using it to change sources on my TV and only have intentions of playing audio on once device at a time.

Auto-switching works well
It works perfectly! I love the auto-switching function. The LEDs are a bit too bright, but you can tape over them.

The best option at $25
Bought this after returning the Sewell Direct SW-30537 Lightwave (the remote only worked from two feet or closer), and it's far superior. The remote works perfectly, even with the switcher hidden from view (the Sewell needs to have a corded IR receiver plugged in), and the device also switches automatically between inputs when active if you want it to.It doesn't come with a power adapter, but does have a USB cable as well as a short Toslink cable.

Does not work with surround sound or devices in standby mode
It will automatically detect an active input as long as the device is on and the other is off, it does not differentiate between data streams. And it does not support 5.1 surround sound at best it's 2.1 you have your front speaker and rear speaker and a subwoofer. It's just front and back not directional
