The Mutantes Fuzz aka 'Brazilian Fuzz' is a bright and nasty high-gain Fuzz, the circuit is based around 2 high quality NOS BC109 silcon Transistors There is no control over the amount of Gain, but a VOLUME Control. This is a noisy vintage Fuzz-Pedal, be prepared. We added a RF interference Filter-Section and a Diode clipping ON/OFF switch as well as a Diode Clipping amount Control. The HIGH/LOW switch gives 2 sound options, standard bright or doomy. Conclusion: a beast, lots of fun to play, smokes many other Fuzzes in a pipe, but noisy high-gain cirucit 2 Knobs VOLUME and CLIP +/-, 2 switches CLIP/NO and LOW/HIGH Connectors: Input, Output, DC jack Ingredients: oversized ceramic Capacitor, oversized Polyester Capacitors, BC109 metal can Transistors, 1/4 Watt 1% low noise metal film resistors, True-Bypass 3pdt stomp switch, audio-grade sealed Potentiometers, Neutrik IN/OUT jacks Power Supply: 9V PSU tip negative only (no battery option) This is a hand-build pedal, accept some minor scratch here and there. The enclosure is rough polished aluminum. Pedal is True Bypass and has a status LED.

Is not for use in actual playing a song in fuzz mode
So, I bought one of these in mid '17. It immediately went it back because I thought it was defective. I couldn't get it to make a solid signal. It kept glitching and sputtering out. No sustain. Just inconsistent noise. Not musical in any form.Yet, I got involved with a noise project recently. I thought this glitchy noise pedal might give me a "wtf was that?" type of thing happening occasionally. So, I've owned 2 different of these "mutants". Played with them, tried to figure what they do and don't do.These are not fuzz. They could be but aren't. They aren't for punching in and playing a song with. You can't. Too much cutting in and out, dropping signal, losing sustain. It's like a 1 yr old twisting a knob-all over the place. At times you can't control, this pedal will sound fuzzy and usable, but you hv no control as to when it will drop off into white noise coated sputtering interference.I thought I could coax electric mayhem-esque robot sounds out of it but it's just not true. What this pedal does well however, is provide excellent edge of clean type crunch. Grit, grime, and detail with some punch. When you switch off "fuzz that doesn't even exist anyway" mode by sliding from left clip side to right no side, the pedal bypasses the clip knob and becomes like a clean boost w just the volume control and the hi, lo switch. Also, the description says low doom or something tones are possible. No. Not even close. This pedal provides no low anything. So, this isn't a fuzz. At all. None. It's not even musically usable in that function. But if you switch the fuzz clip switch to the right so it's off, it's an excellent gritty crunch boost. In this age of boutique handmade pedals, why this bunch of fake fuzzers isn't building and selling a good clean boost I'll never understand.Oh, I own a Fuzz Factory clone and a Deep Blue Sea Delay clone made by these same people. Both are solidly good and perform as advertised. And I play humbuckers through tubes on "12's

It is also incredibly touch-sensitive and seems to respond more like a germanium fuzz than a silicon one
This is my second 3pdt pedal, and it seems just as solid as the first one. There was a bit of RF interference when I was first testing out the pedal that was remedied by adjusting gain settings and uncoiling my guitar cable. This is an incredibly versatile fuzz that can produce textures ranging from biting treble-boost-style overdrive to squishy doom chugging with a crusty edge. It is also incredibly touch-sensitive and seems to respond more like a germanium fuzz than a silicon one. I can't wait to see what affordable clone 3pdt produces next.

Different than your typical fuzz
This is a quality made pedal sold at a budget price. It's not your typical low cost fuzz clone. It's loud. It's unique. It's a blast to play. The reviews didn't instill much confidence, but I still took a chance on it. The build and components shown in the photos looked too good for such a low cost. So happy I took a chance and bought one of these.

It's fun and noisy
This is a very loud pedal. Unity volume with my strat and SuperChamp X2 is with the volume knob almost all the way down. It's fun and noisy, can get super doomy chuggy fuzz tones or brighten up nicely. Good deal
