Asics GT-1000 5 GS Supportive Running Shoes Cushioned and comfortable, the GT-1000TM 5 GS is loaded with technical features for junior athletes who overpronate whilst running, and therefore require extra support. The fun athletic design features a Rearfoot GEL® Cushioning System for excellent shock attenuation and the DuoMax® Dual-Material Support System for a stable ride. Updated Synthetic/Mesh Upper The Asics GT-1000 5 GS Running Shoe features a synthetic/mesh upper, which delivers a lightweight and comfortable fit with excellent breathability. The mesh panels allow hot air to leave the shoe, and cold air to penetrate and travel into the shoe to ensure that the foot stays cool and dry. The Heel Clutching SystemTM provides the heel with a secure fit to offer increased support and to help to counteract overpronation. A removable EVA sockliner delivers a superb, adaptive fit that can be removed to accommodate a medical orthotic. A California Slip last also helps to improve stability and comfort as the upper is stitched to the EVA board before being directly attached to the midsole. There is also the added benefit of reflective elements to ensure visibility when running in low-light conditions. GEL® Cushioned Midsole The midsole incorporates an Asics GEL® unit in the rearfoot, which provides cushioning and shock absorption during the heel strike phase of the gait cycle. The GEL® unit is placed close to the foot to mimic the tissues under the heel; this helps the GEL® unit to perform better, and give you a smoother ride. Asics' dual density DuoMaxTM support system also features in the midsole to promote a neutral gait, as well as enhance stability and support at a reduced weight. The midsole is completed by Asics' Guidance Trusstic System® which promotes a neutral stance throughout the gait cycle whilst providing midfoot structural integrity.
