Works really well last long time when plugged in for charging they skimp out on the solar cells and battery would be nice to have a charging light -the light puts out a lot light nice way to reflect it

Cost more but the other cheap version of them worked way better than the most expensive one like this one

Ok, so I bought this lantern mainly because it works as a lantern and also as a bug zapper. I'm impressed by the material quality, the metal is really nice. I keep this outside on a hanger on the bug function and 1) because it's solar powered, it actually charges all day and works at night and 2) the purple light turns on automatically when it gets dark so I don't have to think about it.The bug zapper works really well, I just had to brush a dead moth out of there today. *However* the purple light is LED so it isn't quite as bright as some other bug zapping lanterns. So! It works extremely well but I feel like it doesn't attract bugs as quickly as brighter lights would. That being said, it's solid, I feel like it's never going to break, it's bright and it works. I really enjoy it for my purposes.

We charged this up (by plugging it into an outlet) within a couple hours and hung it in our garden which was infested with bugs of all kinds (mosquitos, flys, moths, etc). We switched it to the trap setting and when it got dark enough the zapper automatically turned on. Come morning, the only bugs to be seen were the dead bugs around the lamp. Our garden is now 99% pest free.

Kills bugs but not many mosquitos. Used it every night for most of the summer and never slowed the mosquitos at all. We would put it on the table by us and even tried placing it further away. No difference in the amount of mosquitos! It does charge well and stays lit for long periods.

I got this item near my indoor compost bucket hoping it will kill the fruit flies that always appear when I take the lid off. I haven't used it yet so I don't know if it will kill off the fruit flies. I got fly paper in that area too and it works without recharging but is unsightly. I just like solar gadgets and this has two types of light so it's a good backup for power outages.
