An excellent reader
This is an amazing device. The screen is large and clear. The nxtpaper feature , coupled with the screen size of 14inch, makes it an excellent reader. In my opinion these two factors make it preferable to the kindle. Its a very capable machine with a large memory (256gb) and can double as a laptop. As value for money, this can't be beaten.

Great for reading sheet music
This is the best tablet that I have found for reading sheet music. Using mobile sheets you can link two of these tablets together in book view. The size is ideal for sheet music and the response time is good. The screen has no glare and is comfortable to view for long periods without flicker. Ideal for my purposes. The sound quality is not great but then if you want a capable tablet for music reading, note taking, internet use and basic admin tasks, then this works perfectly at a sensible price point. The unit I received was supposed to be 'good as new' but was missing the charger and pen holder on arrival.

Nice display...but big for a tablet
We got this for our for Christmas during the Black Friday sales. It's a great tablet and comes with a pen and case. Feature wise, the 3 display modes are a gimmick and we've never changed our of the standard display mode. It's a great size, but be warned, it's too big to hold and use. Luckily, the case acts as a stand, which works nicely on the floor or at the table. The stylus works and is fairly responsive. Not immediate, but acceptable for beginners. Overall, a good tablet of you can get it at a good price. But I wouldnt think this is worth the rrp. If it wasn't on sale, I would have been looking at the Lenovo p series instead.

What feels like an expensive tablet; at an astonishing price.
First impressions as a totally unpaid reviewer - will update if opinions change: I'm usually someone who splurges on technology, which is usually a good idea, since stuff around this price point I normally regret buying; but in seeing expert reviews I gave this a shot. I am so glad I did. The screen quality on this device is fantastic. It punches way, way above it's weight. The matte screen coating helps in this department, as I do find this device much easier on the eyes than a regular screen. Now, the paper modes. This doesn't meaningfully reduce battery life when used, but the experience is significantly easier on the eyes. The colour paper mode is so far my favourite, and looks and feels amazing to use - my only irk being it is not compatible with dark mode. Even videos are crisp when in standard mode. All text, even at the smaller scale, is clear and readable. I have used this so far for note-taking via Notion and PDF-file annotation via Zotero, both in the colour paper mode, and it's been a joyous experience so far. When writing, the stylus on screen feel is present, especially as the pen knib is hard, but I still found writing on this device straightforward and comfortable. The microphone has been great also; something I needed to take AI-transcriptions of meetings. The build quality feels solid so far, and while it's basic, I don't have any issues with the case. Battery life wise, you aren't blown away - but it's felt like plenty for me so far. Even if the battery gets low, this thing charges fast with the right USB-C charger. The pen magnet could have been stronger, and the speakers are nothing special, and the "AI-features" are a bit aggressive (all can be turned off). But none of these niggles have bothered me. At this price, you can never have it all... and boy does this tablet excel at everything else. I would certainly buy again.

Avoid.
I bought the TCL NXT 14 after my Samsung tab S7+ battery died and was unable to charge. Greedy for a larger screen and value price tag, i get what I pay for, less than a few days of use and the screen becomes unresponsive with fuzzy grey patches. Another issue is the refresh rate, may have been spoilt by the samsung, but 60hz frame rate makes scrolling look slugging and jittery. Have requested a refund, just waiting for UPS to schedule a day to pick it up.

Great musician's tool and excellent tablet all round
I got the idea for this on YouTube where a musician was expounding the useful size of this screen and the non-reflective nature of the display and he was correct. This screen size and display are perfect for lead sheet and/or lyric display at gigs and there's more than enough storage for playlists etc.

Fantastic aid for musicians
I bought this mainly for reading sheet music plus tuition software like Tomplay and Yousician. I purchased a Bluetooth page turning pedal at the same time. Reading music on PDFs or ebook formats is great, and using PDFgear I can use the included pen to annotate a score without paying an expensive subscription. The screen is excellent, lovely and clear without hurting your eyes. So far it has exceeded my expectations, especially at the price point, almost half the price of a second hand apple or Samsung. The speakers are a little tinnie but I pair the tablet via Bluetooth to headphones or my Roland E-drums so not bothered by that. Battery life is very good and youtube and other videos perform well, no obvious lag. I no longer have reams of music fighting to fall of my desk or escape my music case, most of my sheet music is in electronic format and turning pages is easy, no messing with pegs or elastic. I'm going to check out Songbook Pro next and hopefully get the last few bits of music converted into electronic format.
