Not necessarily an easy repair if the drum shaft is damaged
This rotor is 1/2 of the direct drive motor on an LG washer (the other 1/2 are the coils underneath the rotor).I ordered a replacement rotor after watching youtube videos and diagnosing the problem. It arrived a day earlier than the estimate Amazon provided. The videos (and other reviews on this site) suggest that this is an easy repair, that the rotor just slides right onto the drum shaft. Unfortunately, the replacement didn't go on as easy as the youtube videos suggest. They recommend rocking the rotor and hitting it with your fist, none of which worked.I inspected the drive shaft that leads to the washer drum, and noticed that the splines were worn at the end of the shaft, and it appeared that some of the shaft metal was blocking the grooves at the end of the shaft, which would prevent the rotor from going onto the shaft. The splines also looked like they'd been deformed (they were round instead of wedge-like), suggesting that maybe the washer had gone through a complete wash cycle in this condition (the clothes were still sopping wet).I went to Home Depot and bought a couple of triangular precision files, and used them to clear out the front of the grooves. After trying to install it several times in the manner that the youtube videos suggest, I finally made a jig out of a long bolt, a wrench socket and a fender washer, and used an end-wrench on the bolt to press the rotor assembly onto the shaft. One I got the rotor assembly onto the shaft about a quarter of an inch, I was able to replace the jig with the original bolt. I then used the 17 mm socket wrench (and a good deal of effort) to press-fit the rotor the rest of the way onto the shaft. This washer is a bit more than 10 years old, and I had the drum bearing replaced about 5 months ago. Clearly these parts are engineered to last about 10 years so, with any luck, I'll get 10 more years of life out of the washer without having to replace it.It's a good part, and I'm glad I was able to fix the washer. Though it was more difficult than I thought it was going to be to replace it, its a much easier repair than replacing the $25 drum bearing, which requires dismantling the entire washer and reassembling it.So overall, I'm very satisfied.I did notice that the price for this part went up on this item again after I purchased it. Handy tip for LG and its repair affiliates: no part on this machine should cost more than 10 percent of the machine's overall replacement cost, except maybe the wash drum assembly itself.

Easy fix!
My wife thought she would get a new washing machine but with a YouTube video and this part fixing the washer was super easy. The part works well, was shipped with no damage and this is a heavy part.I would order the part again if needed.

I saved a ton of money by using this DIY part!
My LG washer started to slip when it was turning. It was also making a terrible grinding noise that at first made me cringe thinking of how much money I was going to have to spend to buy a new washer. However, after some quick YouTube searching I found someone with a similar problem and proceeded to take the back off my machine to find the teeth on this sprocket were worn down. So, for less than $100 and 10 minutes worth of labor I was back in business and the machine is back to cleaning our clothes and doing so quietly!

10 minutes to verify...you don’t need a repairman.
Would have rated this higher number of stars if Lucky Goldstar had pulled their head out of it and make the part that actually wears out available. The entire rotor was not broken. Only the gear in the middle was damaged on mine because they didn’t tighten the lock bolt all the way down.Amazon did well. Part arrived as scheduled and took me a few minutes to install. Too easy to do to even consider hiring a repairman. If your machine isn’t turning but you can hear the drain and the motor this is the most likely culprit. It’ll take 10 minutes to verify.

Easy to install
I bought a used Kenmore washing machine that didn't spin, thinking it only needed a new position sensor. It turns out all the teeth on the spline in the original one had been worn off by overloading the machine. The back of the washer came off with a few screws. The old rotor came off easily by removing a few bolts. This just slid easily into place. The whole operation took about 20 minutes. Don't forget to put thread-lock on the bolts before reinstalling them!

Arrived quickly, worked perfectly
After about ten years of use, the splines had stripped out of my old one... on a Sunday morning, of course, with no appliance parts stores open. Did some googling to get the part number, placed the order, and it had arrived by Tuesday.Replacement procedure involved nothing more than moving the washer out for access, unplugging it, removing four screws for the access panel, and then r&ring the rotor via a single bolt.Working fine as of this writing. It's a shame you can't just buy the rotor hub as it appears to be replaceable as a component, but it's only available as an assembly.

Cheaper DIY then to hire
Cheaper to replace yourself then hire. Can be a little difficult to get old one off and new one on. I needed a second person to assist
