Genuine Joe Space-Saving Waste Container, 23 Gal

I was actually excited to get this. It's large, cheap, holds 30gal bags perfectly, I prefer the bags without drawstrings but both fit great. Easy to remove bags. Thin and able to be squeezed in more places than a round trash can. Easy to pick up. Durable, will probably last my whole life but who cares because its cheaper than most other trash cans especially for the size. Looks fine, who needs a shiny chrome trash can anyways? Doesn't come with a lid but if you need one it's cheap or you could make a DIY one with next to no effort. We use these in a place I work at and they go through a lot of abuse and are perfectly fine. Best trash can of this size you can buy overall IMHO.

Taller than the average so you have to be careful about the trash bag fitting. A regular kitchen bag will not work. Even though its a 23 gallon trash can you need at least 30 gallon bags I use 30 gal contractor bags. The trash can has these hooks under the rim on each corner that hold the bag. So the bag does not fall into the trash can, no tying of the bag to hold it in place is necessary. A favorite feature. The main reason I got this trash can is that it is large but designed to not take up much space. I have very little kitchen space and it's never in the way. We have large dogs and it keeps them out of the trash. The lid that is sold separately but I would recommend getting that as well because the if you have tall dogs the Lid prevents them from reaching in when its mostly full and taking items out of the trash. But even if you don't have dogs this is a great trash can because of how much it holds and how little space it takes. It is deep so not easy to clean. Taking it outside ad hosing it out is the easiest way to clean. But because it holds the trash bag in place I have not needed to clean it yet. Would recommend I'm so glad I got this. I love this trash can.

very sturdy and durable! Would def buy again if needed.

I bought this 23 gallon waste container for our crushed aluminum cans. It is plenty sturdy for what I wanted it for. It is stored in the garage, and because of it's tall slim shape, it is a real space saver as opposed to a round shaped container. Up against a wall it uses very little space which is what I wanted. Garages never seem to have enough room for everything, so wherever I can save space helps. I had some 30 gallon trash bags before I bought this that I will use up, however they are not really tall enough for this container. Another reviewer said they are using 30 gallon bags, but they do not reach the bottom of the container if you want to hook the bag over the lip of the container. I just ordered the 40 gallon blue recycling bags from Amazon which will be taller and will work better. A box of 100 bags for about $29.00 that will last us a good long time. Another reviewer did not like the "Genuine Joe" logo that is on it. REALLY?? Who cares what is printed on it? It's a trash can for Pete's sake!!!

I was disappointed to see that it didn't say Genuine Joe on the outside. Although a personal reason for wanting that, it was why I purchased the can. Other than the pictures representing something else, it is a great can that fits perfectly for what we needed it for.

Great size and shape

I just received this trash can in the mail today. I haven't gotten around to using it yet but from what I can tell, it's a very nice trash can. The plastic throughout is thick and sturdy and the handles are durable as well. It is a dark gray, slate color. The "Genuine Joe" brand logo does appear on the front in black print and it does not come with the lid, you have to buy the lid separately. I've seen a few people recommend the Rubbermaid Slim Jim trash can in preference to this one but I say this trash can is definitely the better option. This one is $16 cheaper and perfectly adequate for its purpose. This can's measurements are: 30" tall; at the bottom, approximately 7" by 16"; at the top, approximately 11" by 20" (not including the handles); and the handles on both sides stick out about 2", making the overall width of the top approximately 24" (including the handles). I've attached pictures displaying front, back, side, aerial, and bottom views.

Nice trash can, easy to pull bag out of, with the flip lid holds odors in! Happy with this purchase
