Wonderart Latch-Hook Kit, Flower Pup, 15" X 20"

Recently I was looking for a latch hook kit to give to a disabled friendso that he could have something to take up his time and make a nice rugfor me. Since I love cats I searched and found "Moonlight Meow" at an excellent price for a latch hook kit. I ordered and it arrived quickly.My friend was impressed with the quality of the materials in the kitand made me the rug in 2 days. Great instructions and much larger then I expected. Stencil is clear and the printed guide in the instructions is helpful as well. I have not done one of these in awhile but am very happy with my purchase. It is stated clearly in the description but I also wanted to mention that product comes with everything you need except the hook device. You can pick one up on Amazon for under $5 like I did. Lots of fun!

Be aware this kit does not come with the latch hook tool and does not have the pattern printed on the canvas. We will still try to do it, but it seems like there should be a latch hook tool in something for this price (or clear indication that it does not have one). For the ~30 dollars one would also think it could have the pattern printed on the mesh.

I finished making this latch hook kit yesterday and I think it turned out very nicely. There was plenty of yarn to complete the project with a fair amount left over, so I don't think anybody will run out as long as they don't lose a lot of yarn.I only have a few small complaints. I had a bit of trouble separating the "cream" yarn from the "white" yarn, which was made more difficult because the cream yarn strands were mixed into the white yarn strands (whereas the other colors were generally in separate clumps). I recommend separating the yarn under a bright light before using it.Also the printed pattern on my canvas was tilted a little bit so I had trouble determining which row to start at, and it was a little difficult telling some of the colors apart on the canvas (for example pink and orange squares looked almost the same to me).I relied mainly upon the pattern in the instruction manual which clearly laid out the colors for each square. I kind of counted it out in half-row segments, laying out the yarn in the order that I would need it before attaching the yarn onto the canvas. After I finished, I turned it into a wall-hanging and it looks very nice.The preview image is pretty much what it will look like when it's finished (although it's up to you whether to turn it into a wall-hanging, pillow, etc.). If you like the image and are willing to refer to the diagram instead of relying on the canvas then I think you'll be pleased with the result.

First, the image is NOT printed on the canvas so there is a lot of counting. But more importantly the yarn is horrible. It frays and the lengths are inconsistent. I spent a lot of time separating the colors so I'm sticking with it, but still may send it back.

The media could not be loaded. So far so good? The only thing I don’t like is the paper grid; the colors are har to see, and count the squares.I know I’ll get it, but the paper grid color could be improved for better visual instruction.UPDATE: Finished! Challenging, and fun!

There is no design printed on the canvas. Just a blue grid. Don't know if I'll be able to do it or not. For the price they could have at least printed the design on the canvas.

Product had all required pieces and was a great project to do! Since its a smaller size than some latchhooks it made for a quick finish!
