Great Connection
This mesh wifi system (Linksys Velop Pro 7) is amazingly fast. Fast enough that you can actually see the speed of your applications loading. The setup is easy once you download the Linksys app. It walks you through the setup process step by step. I have yet to notice ANY deadspots in my home where this is weak or no connectivity. If you're looking to add some spice to your WiFi at home or work, you should consider this option for fast, reliable connections.

Unreliable Connection & Terrible Signal – Total Waste of Money!
AWFUL. If I could return this, I would. The connection keeps dropping constantly—at least 10 to 20 times per day—to the point that it’s unusable. We tried everything, but the result is always the same: you lose internet connectivity while staying connected to the network. The only way to fix it is to turn the Wi-Fi on and off on the device. Also, the signal range is really bad. I live in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment, and the router is located at the center, but the signal drops at the edges.I paid over $250 for this garbage—never again with this brand.

Very happy with Linksys and OpenWrt
Upgraded my old Linksys OpenWrt router with the latest. Was plug in play out of the box. Had to search how to change the SSID in OpenWrt, but got it done in a few minutes. Speed is great. Coverage is as good as the old router with external antennas. I had not touched the old Linksys router in years, hope this one is just as good.

Setup is nightmare
Only complaint is that setup was a nightmare. I used the Linksys app to upgrade from my previous router. Process stalled on configuring the router and wouldn’t complete. Multiple attempts failed. Contacted support and they offered nothing just sent me generic troubleshooting information and terminated the contact. After multiple attempts and resets it worked. However, today it kept showing no internet connection even though modem and internet was fine. After a few more hours and resets and starting from scratch I got it setup. Still won’t allow speed checks within the app. I will see if it is still working tomorrow.

Better security and current technology - May affect your older devices
Short version: Yes, I definitely recommend this router. The setup was nearly automatic, but with advanced configuration available. Note: the increased security protocols may affect older devices.Upgrading a router every few years is essential for the safety of your network and devices. Upgrading from a state-of-the-art (in 2016) router, I took the extra precaution of changing the network name (SSID) and password instead of keeping the SSID/password (from 8 years ago). This meant changing networks on every computer, tablet, smartphone, TV, Echo DOT, and home automation device. It is a fair amount of work, but increases the security of the network. It also uncovers hidden exposures. The router's default security is the current WPA2/WPA3, along with the ability to create up to 4 SSIDs (to segment user & network traffic) and much more. However, a 2012 (TV streaming device) I still used had trouble connecting. Finally, I discovered that with its security of only WPA/WPA2, plus earlier WEP & TKIP, it could not log onto the network, thus protecting my network from potential "old security feature" exposures. So yes, I definitely recommend this router, and suggest using the setup as a way to review your current devices and exposures.

Fast but need time during the setup
Pretty fast. But unable to setup via the app. Took me over 2 hours and need to contact the Linksys support to configure from the computer. Change the setting and update the firmware before it can go to the internet

great upgrade
This was a great upgrade from my previous AX5300 mesh router. The problem I needed to solve was the number of WiFi devices in our smart home that overwhelmed the older router. Everything is up and running and the smart home responses are notably snappy compared to before.

Save your $$ and run with WIFI 6
Velop 7 Pro, WIFI keeps dropping and is slo. Hard line on the switch no issues. Linksys would not send replacement till they received 7 Pro back, at my exspense. I barrowed an EERO from a friend, holy cow this EERO blows the Velop out of the water.I have a sneaky suspicion the replacement is not going be any better. Passed the return point via Amazon, I'll be out $250. Save $$ stay with WIFI 6. WIFI 7 is non exsistance at this point in time. I do not recommend Velop 7 Pro!! In fact I won't buy Linksys product again. And that's too bad, the WRT 3200 was bad ass unit.Update, 04/16/2025. Linksys will not refund. I had to replace with an EERO. Ya save your $$ do not buy this unit!!
