A very nice lens sensibly priced
All of the usual complaints about this lens, (it's soft on the edges, it has a limited sweet spot, it's not fast, etc.) are true. However, when used within it's limits it delivers great pictures.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't ever had the money to get a wide angle lens until now.Boy, I didn't know what I was missing. This thing is great!! The angle of view and the resolution seem fine to me.I haven't notice any softness in the corners as some have said.I suppose if you were making blow-ups to say 20X16 you might notice some, but in my opinion this is a fantastic lens - especially anyone on a limited budget.

Maybe a bad copy. Returned
I’m not a pro photographer, but I like good quality lens at good prices. Unfortunately this isn’t one, the lens had trouble focusing trough the viewfinder, and corner were super soft even at f11.

I expected more for the money. Chromatic aberration is excessive in my opinion. The photos are soft with this lens. Have been using this for over three years now on Pentax K-7.Mostly architectural and real estate photography.Occasionally use it for landscape photography.

Still Learning to Use It
This is a wider angle zoom lens than I am used to and I'm still learning how to use it. It is a well made, substantial lens. So far I've used it only for real estate photography. Unless you watch what your doing, it is easy to take photos that appear unnatural and distorted. Walk closer to the subject and the lens' wide angle of view are best utilized. I think this is a keeper.

Widen your perspective WITHOUT a "fisheye" effect
I am addicted to wide-angle lenses, and find them to be more frequently useful than telephoto lenses in general. Sure, both have their proper place. This one goes from extreme wide angle (10mm, equivalent to about 15mm on a full-frame 35mm film camera) to moderate wide-angle (24mm, equivalent to 36mm on my old film camera), so it covers much of the range I like a lot. The wide-angle end of the zoom range is significantly wider than the wide end of the "kit" lens that came with my DSLR (18-55mm).It is annoying that the auto-focus mechanism often can't cope with the enormous depth of focus that is provided at wide angles and small apertures. "Everything" is in focus so the camera thinks "nothing" is in focus, so it keeps hunting and prevents the shutter from firing. So I often find myself clicking over to manual focus just to get a picture. I don't consider this to be a defect of the lens, it's just the immutable laws of physics. Maybe the camera could have been smarter. The only other downside of this lens is that it is not as sharp as I would like. I guess I need to get me a fixed-focal-length lens for pictures where sharpness is most important.

Awesome Lens - with a budget in mind!
I have had this lens for just a few shootings, but I love it! I really waffled about getting this or a Pentax 12-24 (for more $$), but with a budget in mind I can't be happier with my decision! My original concerns about this Tammy were that it wasn't weather sealed, and it doesn't have an aperture ring (I have a Pentax K7). Turns out the Pentax lens is lacking the same features... so I opted for the lesser cost of this unit.I love the view lines! Very true and not much distortion considering it is a SWA lens. Amazing field of view!I paired it with a good quality multi-coated, low profile UV filter for both protection and haze correction (a must in my opinion).

Bottom line is that I like it very much
I bought this lens at Amazon 2 months ago for my Pentax K-3 for wide field landscape&street shooting. I have used it on trips to the Red Sea and the Judaea and Negev Deserts. Took me some hundreds of shootings to understand the upsides and downsides. Bottom line is that I like it very much. Excellent value for money. It is my first real wide angle ( I got the Pentax Kit 18-135 which is very good ) and except of shadow issues while using flesh at 10-13 mm Im satisfied.

Solidly build ultra wideangle!
I've just tested this new wide angle on a few frames but early indications are that its a winner. Well made and sturdy this lens will be put though its paces and some up coming trips.

Tamron B001P-700 AF 10-24mm
Works well for wide angle shots. I have a 18-55 mm lens and thought it would do for real-estate pictures but the 10-24 lens is much better. You wouldn't think 8mm would make that much difference.
