I teach my children about the things in the books, and they do the workbooks after. We use these books in every subject now, and plan to use these again in years ahead. Review: Always Impressed - This is actually our third year using this book in our Homeschooling Curriculum. We are only a week in and, as always, we're already impressed. It has many topics in Social Studies, Geography, Economics and Citizenship including vital subjects that some texts now leave out that are pertinent to U.S. history. The lessons are easy to build and elaborate upon with simple references such as maps and reading materials that are easily researched after covering the books subjects matter, but the book itself has the perfect level of info and details for each age range to handle even on its own. Buy it, it's absolutely worth it!

Great homeschool curriculum
My 3rd grader is homeschooled. This is our primary source for social studies. It is organized with 5 lessons a week for 36 weeks. There is an answer key located in the back. The lessons are well written and have both multiple choice and essay answers. It is a great introduction to many topics.

Mispellings
It seems like a decent workbook. Day 1 Lesson 1 already has a spelling error, though.

I currently teach at a private elementary school in Japan. While I was expecting to teach English, I was not prepared to teach social studies in English. So I got this book. It's very US centered, so I don't think I'll use those sections. And the government isn't at all like the Japanese system, so I probably won't use that either. But the geography has been very useful. The book focuses on one topic for a few days, about 5, and then rotates to another, moving from geography to government, for example. As I end up doing 2 pages a day, this is a bit annoying, but I can just go forward and grab a page from the next section, or just stretch out activities. One thing to note is that no single page is a lesson per say. It's meant to supplement a lesson. So, as a teacher, I have to prepare the topic, and that's a good thing. The book provides me a framework, a logical progression, and a variety of topics. Very useful. The pages are black and white and photocopy well, without images on the back bleeding through. The images are very clearly designed in black and white, rather than being photographs or whatever that have been cobbled together. My only gripe is that some images are a bit washed out. It's as if some artists just worked with lighter colors when drawing, though the text itself is uniform throughout. Genuinely weird. Thankfully, my situation only requires me to provide perhaps 1 lesson in science, social studies, math, etc a week. This book will easily last the year and has been a welcome find. Very interested in getting a few books in different subjects, especially if they offer the same features. Recommended.
