One of my daughter’s favorite books
My daughter absolutely loves this book about logic. It’s been such a joy to see her engaged with the activities and thinking through the puzzles. The explanations are clear and age-appropriate, so she’s able to follow along without getting frustrated, but they’re still challenging enough to keep her interested.

For Christians Only
I took a great Logic course in college and now 40 years later I bought this book to update, refresh, and reinforce my argumentation skills. Favorably, it does contain discussion of many useful concepts, but when I ordered it I didn’t realize that this was a religious - specifically Christian - textbook. I am Christian but my wife and dozens or more of my friends are not, be them Jewish, Buddhist, or whatever. As this book uses voluminous biblical references, such as, as early as page 1 it says “Reason is a gift from God,” which may or may not be true, based on other Logic textbooks. In fact , I still have my Logic textbook from college, and we went 18 weeks through the semester without making that proclamation. I think this book is offensive to non-Christians, and I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Great intro to logic.
Almost done going through the book. It’s a very well written and thorough introduction to logic. It’s written by a Christian organization and is used in a curriculum. It’s important to note, the book is not intended to impose religion as some reviewers have proposed, although it does assume the person reading is religious or won’t be offended by a few minor religious references. The sole purpose of the book is to teach the basics of logic and argument formulation and it does this very well. It’s a very thorough introduction to logic that takes you through everything you would need to know as a beginner such as Aristotle’s 3 laws of logic, categorical logic, propositional logic, Analyzing statements, square of opposition, contradiction, contrariety, sub-implication, super-implication, forming premises and conclusions, syllogisms, moods and figures of syllogisms and much more.
