I love this socket. I know it sounds insane, but for an amateur trying to do a diy rewiring, I wish I had done this right away. I first bought a plug in lamp wire and had some misadventures. This one was simple, looks beautiful, and works!You just pop out the inside assembly so you can access the wire terminals. They are visibly silver and copper. After making an “underwriter’s” knot, you just screw your wires tight, push the assembly back into the cardboard tube, and pop the bottom back onto the top. Truthfully, that was the hardest part. I had to apply quite a bit of pressure to hear it snap in.10/10 would recommend.

We bought some floor and table lamps based on a TV ad from a major supplier of home furnishings - the free delivery is supposedly the best part of the deal, however after one year several of the lamp bulb socket based on off switch just fell apart so I ordered replacement sockets and replaced the broken ones myself, the quality looks good and the switch operates smoothly.

I have a very old lamp that I found buried in the dirt on an Old farm 45 years ago. The previous part had failed and I was concerned that I would not be able to find another one to work on this old lamp. I love the finish it matches what was on the lamp, and I expect it to last forever.
