Almost perfect.
I will admit, I wore out the stepped drill bit. I needed to open a 12” hole in a 316 stainless steel 18 gauge sheet. It did an excellent job. Only the step drill bit will need to be replaced on the next job. I am pleased.

Warning! The shavings are extremely sharp!
I chose this nibbler over an electric metal shear, mostly because I already have too many tools. I guess a man can never have “too many tools”... but what I hate the most is an electric tool that I will only use a handful of times a year.. if that. They take up space and the worst thing with buying a tool which only has one purpose... is exactly that! The propriety function of a sheet metal shear and the fact that it’s just one more thing that can fail on me, makes me think twice about shelling out the extra cash. This nibbler is cheap, compact, comes with a spare cutter and also has 2 spare heads.... one of which is on the opposite side of the tool... it’s function being beyond me. It doesn’t cut as fast as an electric shear... it only nibbles a tiny crescent shaving at a time... but it does the job and isn’t horribly slow. One advantage this has over an electric shear is that you can make really tight radius cuts with ease.. for example, the corners of a square cut. Warning! The shavings are extremely sharp and hard to see on the floor. I have been pulling these little half moon pieces of metal out of the soles of my shoes and have been poked a couple times when kneeling on the floor. They hurt like hell and can get stuck in you, so be careful. I ended up finishing my cuts with my piece inside a big plastic tub to catch the shavings. Made cleanup a breeze but somehow I still managed to get some pieces scattered around. I can’t see this chewing through 16 gauge metal for too long. You’ll probably wear down the tiny lip on the cutting bit real quick or possibly breaking something inside the gearbox. I haven’t opened it up but I can’t imagine it being constructed of anything other than pot metals like the rest of this thing. After cutting 3 roughly 12”x12” squares on some 20 gauge metal, the gearbox itself was noticeably warm to the touch... maybe should pop that apart and pack it with some grease. Anyway, did the job for me and I’ll probably reach for this thing another 2... maybe 3 times this year. I’ll bet it will last long enough for my use. If you plan on doing extensive metal work... maybe just get the nice electric shears which cut many times faster than this and will likely hold up to continuous use a lot longer.

Perfect for HVAC
I work in residential HVAC and many times I need to cut duct for either installing humidifiers, air purifiers, humidistats, cleaning evap coils, or just looking into the ducts to see how dirty they are. The thing I hated most was having to use my tin snips (duct scissors). Sometimes it was easy to cut through duct with the scissors, and other times it took me 15 minutes of hard forearm strength just to get a couple inches. And either way I would always come out with some horrible jagged edges that could slice you up. This tool is so worth the money. Requires no forearm strength because the drill and the tool do all the work. It is free hand which means, you dont have to cut in a straight line or in only circles since some cutters only give you that option. This tool gives you the full ability to cut with complete freedom in any shape you want. And most of all, its super fast, and the cuts are super clean. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Its so cheap for the value.

Hard to control but useful in limited circumstances
I got this to try and cut SM Rib roofing. I have electric nippers but they don't work well cutting across the ribs. This does work, but it's very hard to try and get a clean straight cut as they bounce around a lot as they cut. In the end I couldn't get a straight enough cut for any of the exposed ends. Probably more useful for cutting takeoff holes in duct work etc. than anything that needs to be straight.

Well worth the money
I bought this nibbler to do some auto body work, and had low expectations for a tool this inexpensive. I tell you what though, this nibbler impressed me. It cuts sheet metal quick and easy, while leaving a smooth edge. No extra grinding required because the nibbler doesn't leave burrs. It also allows for smooth direction changes in your cut. I was able to lay a paper template over my workpiece and just use the nibller to follow the pattern with no problems. It comes with 3 heads, a replacement blade, and even a nice metal box to hold everything. Considering this costs even less than a hand nibbler, you can't go wrong. I'm still on my first blade and even if this thing breaks now, I've gotten my money's worth and would buy another one. The one thing you have to look out for are the slivers of metal that are created when you cut. They get everywhere. Lay something down under your workpiece to catch them and have your shop vac handy.

Incredible quality for the money!!!
I bought this in order to cut holes for the vents in corrugated copper roofing material. I am not a roofer, but I decided to install it myself and save money. I was worried that this nibbler cutter would be really bad at cutting because of how inexpensive it was, but I took the risk and hoped that it would last for this one job. Right after I ordered it I watched a YouTube tutorial about how to use it and the guy in the video was having a hard time cutting with it. I instantly regretted my decision, but to my surprise, when I used it, it worked like a dream. I realized then that the creator of that video was not using it properly. If you read and follow the instructions on how to properly use it, this product will perform above all expectations. What was a nice surprise, was the beautiful case it comes in and the pre-formed foam inside the case that holds each part in it's place. It's super easy to assemble and operate. You need to apply minimal force in order to make it go in any direction you want it to go. You can change the angle of cutting instantly and it will follow any type of curb, regardless of how complex. Honestly, one of the products that made me the happiest and saved me over $200, which is the price of a decent power nibbler cutter.

it cuts metal!
it doesn't look like much but for occasional use it should do fine. the project i had .065, 1/16. 1.66 mm. the black colour made somewhat to align, with my skill set i had to clamp a straight edge to the work in order to get a somewhat straight line . i had difficulty steering the tool so first cuts are a bit wonky. i found that if you tilt it slightly away from the direction of travel or it binds up. slightly off 90°. best 33 clams iv spent.
