Does it have a flatbed for scanning books and small pages/id?

¡Hola Sergio! YES IT DOES! Basically, that is why we bought ours. Let me see how thick of a book it would fit on the flat bed....... ID´s, passports, any document or slim brochure for sure... books as thick as 1 inch because the top LIFTS UP and extends to allow 2 inches. I'm going to try a video... never done it...but here I go. The book I used on the video is 7/8". So... video was too long... not sure how the trimming went. Hope it helps! LB.

Is it easy to photocopy from a book? Meaning, does the top of the copy machine extend enough for a book to fit and for the top to close on it?

yes, you can copy a (medium sized) book easily.

Does this printer do legal sized prints as well as business envelopes (#10) ?

Yes, but you have to feed them. It looks like you can expand the tray outside of the regular setting.
