The best so far, and the cheapest too!?
The best so far, and the cheapest too!?I went through about a dozen Parker Gel (30525PP) refills, only TWO of which lasted until they ran out. Five (!) of them leaked/exploded at one point or another, and a handful more just quit writing after a very short time. One never worked from day one, and one leaked all over the minute I installed it.I tried the Fisher Space Pen refill, which didn't write very well and stopped working after a short while.I also tried the Itoya AquaRoller Gel 0.7, which ended up being as bad if not worse than the Fisher refills. I'm tired of leaking refills and ruined clothes!I've only been using the Schmitt Easy Flow 9000 for about a month now, but I'm still on the first one, it writes better than any of the others, nice and dark, smooth. Just like you'd expect from a gel. No leaking! (yet).I'll update if anything changes, but I am very pleasantly surprised by the cheapest of the bunch!___________________________________________Update August 17th 2016:I'm on my second of the 6 pack now, the first one worked flawlessly until it was empty, and the second is working flawlessly so far too! I just can't believe how much better these are than the more expensive options. They write the best of the bunch too!P.S. I'm a pilot by trade, I use these in my daily flight pen, and the constant air pressure changes must have had an impact on the reliability of the other refills, but these things are just plain rock solid!___________________________________________Update August 24th 2019:I just ran out, and promptly ordered more. These things have a very long lifespan, no shortage of ink inside!Every. Single. One. Worked. Flawlessly.

Schmidt Easy Flow 9000, black
After ordering several US made machined pens through Kickstarter, I immediately found myself in need for a good pen cartridge that writes effortlessly w/very good quality. One of my pens came with a Schmidt cartridge in black. The cartridges I bought write very smoothly and deliver plenty ink, making writing effortless. My only complaints is that once in a while I end up smearing my writing as ink flow very infrequently ends up w/a slight blob, which I then pass over w/my hand (I am a left handed writer). The medium tip feels ideal to me as it makes my handwriting very legible and, as mentioned before, creates a smooth and effortless writing experience. Using different paper, I have never felt any scratching or resistance, unless I managed to drop my pen and it damaged the roller ball upon landing. Then all bets are off although that should not reflect on the pen. The price I paid through Amazon was significantly less than what I would purchase in a Mortar and Brick store, thus I bought a bunch of them.

Smoothest Ballpoint refill I have ever tried.
Last year I started to get into writing. It made sense since I loved trying different pens and paper to find that perfect combo. I did a lot of research and picked up a few of the Parker style G2 refills and a few different notebooks with different types of paper. The refills work with you standard cheap paper you find everywhere. It does have more feedback and resistance with the cheaper paper. Tomoe River paper and this refill are stupid smooth. Only down side I found with this combo is if oil's from your hand or something else get's on the paper it will not write over the oil spots. It's really smooth paper so that doesn't surprise me. The best combo I found for every day use is Midori MD notebooks and this refill. The paper in the Midori MD has just enough texture to keep the refill writing yet is smooth enough it doesn't effect how smooth this refill actually writes. If you have heard about these refills like I did just try them because they are worth it. Another reason I love them is they don't cause hand fatigue when writing for long periods of time like a lot of ballpoint pens and refills will. These are and will be my number one refill for anything they will fit as long as they are made. My second choice is a Jetstream SXR-600-07 which is worth a look as well.
