Sabah: A Love Story

really loved sabah a love story because it really is a love story.sabah plays a caring daughter who is taking care of her ill mother. she has devoted 20 years to her mom and just turns 40 when she finally meets a man she desires.hence the love story begins. stephen is the man she meets and they begin a complex love relationship, which has a gloriously happy ending.the story line itself revels differences between muslims and non muslims, and sabah and stephen are primary examples of that.the music and belly dancing music especially is very enjoyable.i would love to know where to purchase all the music from this motion picture on an audio cd, or at least the name of each musical song performed so i can find it and buy on the internet.the music sabah danced to for stephen is especially interesting, as is the music sabah and her niece danced to when the niece was teaching sabah how to belly dance. these 2 are the musical songs i would love to purchase.should anyone know the names of these and any of the musical songs in the sabah a love story film i would appreciate them being listed.i highly recommend this love story to all and thank everyone for creating it and offering it for sale on amazon.

This is one of my favorite movies and I have watched it on the internet and on cable. I decided to order it and was very satisfied with the vendor who sent it even earlier than originally believed. It's a great simple love story and character study. I compare it with another favorite of mine, 1955's "Marty" and just about anything that the director Lasse Halstrom has directed. It's so nice not to have all of the special effects, gun fire or explosion's and just concentrate on the characters and story.

For pure entertainment, you can't miss this movie. Whether or not it is believable or typical, did not matter to me. I got lost in the love story, loved all the characters, and shared it with all my friends. And I loved that it had a happy ending. It is one of my favorite movies.

One of my favorite movies of all time! Wish there were a soundtrack available. Glad I spent the $26.00 11 years ago, $42.00 is a little steep.

Thes characters are real people with real culture clash struggles that at first are absolute. However, people lovingly resolve their conflicts across the cultural divides. You won't forget this move, nor should you.

This is a beautifully acted love story. First discovered this director from her film "Cairo Time" which is one of my favourite movies, so decided to look up her other works and I was not disappointed with "Sabah". I love movies about relationships and emotions.

I found Sabah to be a wonderful film.Sabah is about the idea of love being bigger than culture, religion and tradition. Of two people who come from different backgrounds, somehow surpassing this.It's so good to see these types of stories, of women living in two cultures, being strong and yet being true and proud of who they are and where they come from. These stories, where we show what we can bring to both cultures, is so important. Beautiful film, in so many ways.I will definitely recommend this one to friends!Fabulous, great, entertaining, funny, happy. Sabah is an "A" quality film.

Fünf Sterne gibt es von mir für einen Film, der einen einfachen Charakter in einer einfachen Story in den Mittelpunkt stellt. "Sabah" vollzieht eine Verwandlung, die ich gerne miterlebt habe. Sie entwickelt sich von einer leisen, unsicheren Frau zu einem willensstarken Charakter - in einer Umgebung, in der es nicht immer unbedingt einfach für eine Frau ist. Vor allem dann, wenn es männliche Familienmitglieder gibt, die die Familie "leiten". Was mir diesbezüglich auch gefiel, war eine Veränderung dieses besagten Familienmitgliedes. So wurde der Mann nicht direkt an den Pranger gestellt, sondern verständlich gemacht, warum er so handelt oder handeln muss. Eine nette, witzige Familien- und auch Liebesgeschichte, die ich mir gerne wieder ansehe.

I gave this movie 5 of 5 when I first saw it on Netflix and now I'm happy to have it in my personal collection . If you enjoy human interest romantic stories with a purely Canadian slant you might just like this one. Obviously I did !

habe diesen film mit meinem schatzi schon soooo oft angesehn und er zieht einen immer wieder mit besonders bei der musik muss ich immer mittanzen:-)so jetzt im ernst also zu sehen wie verschiedene kulturen zusammentreffen und wie damit umgegangen wird ist schon gut dargestellt und die familie ist so frisch und lebendig die muss man mögen .Also egal was es für andere ist ,für mich ist es ein herrlicher film und sogar auch für mein schatzi ....

Accurate as to the facts and the mentality of certain Muslim families. But this is not always the case. Its good to gain an insight from this particular story. Good movie. Good job by the director ''Rubba Nadda'' - She also directed ''Cairo Time'' which I got from Amazon. Very enjoyable, especially since I was born in Egypt.
